Okay, so I saw this video about Conor McGregor’s “suit fu” training, and I thought, “I gotta try that!” I mean, the guy’s a beast in the octagon, and if he’s doing it, there must be something to it, right?
Getting Started
First things first, I needed a suit. I didn’t have anything fancy, so I just grabbed an old one from the back of my closet. It was a bit tight, but hey, that’s part of the challenge, I guess. I cleared out some space in my living room, put on some music, and got ready to move.
The Warm-Up
I started with some basic stretches, just like I saw in the video. Arm circles, leg swings, torso twists, you know, the usual stuff. I could already feel the suit restricting my movement a bit, which was kind of weird but also kind of cool. It felt like I was adding resistance to my warm-up.
The Movements
- Shadow Boxing: I threw some punches and kicks in the air, trying to mimic Conor’s movements. The suit definitely made it harder to move quickly and fluidly. My punches felt slower, and my kicks didn’t go as high.
- Footwork Drills: Next, I did some footwork drills, like shuffling side to side and moving in and out. Again, the suit made it more challenging. I felt a bit clumsy, but I kept at it.
- Ground Movements: This was the hardest part. I tried to do some sprawls and get-ups, but the suit made it really difficult to move on the ground. I felt like I was wrestling with the suit itself!
The Cool-Down
After about 30 minutes, I was pretty tired. I did some more stretches to cool down, and I have to say, I felt a good workout. My muscles were a bit sore, and I was definitely sweating.
My Thoughts
So, what did I think of Conor McGregor’s “suit fu”? Well, it was definitely a unique experience. It’s not something I would do every day, but it was a fun way to mix up my workout routine. The suit added an extra level of challenge to the movements, and I can see how it could help with mobility and flexibility. It’s like resistance training, but with a suit!
Would I recommend it? Sure, why not? It’s a fun and different way to get a workout in. Just make sure you have enough space to move around, and don’t wear your best suit! You might end up ripping it. Trust me, I almost did.
