Alright folks, lemme tell you about my deep dive into finding some killer clan names for COD. Been grinding COD for ages, and I figured it was high time my squad and I had a proper name. Something that screams, “We’re here to dominate!” So, yeah, this is how it all went down.

First off, I started brainstorming. Straight up just writing down anything that came to mind. Words related to war, tactics, power, you name it. I even looked at some historical stuff – like Roman legions, Viking clans, all that jazz. The goal was to get a solid base to work with. Nothing fancy, just raw ideas.
Then, I jumped online. I know, I know, kinda cheating, but hear me out. I wasn’t looking to copy. I just wanted to see what other people were using, what felt overdone, and what had potential. Spent a good hour or two scrolling through forums and gaming sites, looking at clan name lists. Spotted a few decent ones, but mostly a lot of generic stuff. “Elite Snipers,” “Shadow Warriors” – yawn. Needed something with more punch.
Next step, I started mixing and matching. Took some of those raw ideas from my initial brainstorm and combined them with some of the cooler elements I saw online. Started playing with alliteration, rhymes, and just weird combinations of words. This is where it got fun. I came up with some truly awful names, but also a few that had potential. Things like “Crimson Tide,” “Phantom Brigade,” stuff like that.
Okay, so now I had a shortlist. Maybe like 10-15 names that I thought were kinda cool. Time to run them by the squad. I threw them all into our Discord server and asked for feedback. Man, were they brutal. They trashed half of them right away. Said they were too cheesy, too try-hard, too whatever. But a few started to gain traction. “Grim Reapers” was a frontrunner for a while, but someone pointed out that it was already super common.
Back to the drawing board. But this time, I had more specific feedback. My squad wanted something edgy, but not cringey. Something that sounded skilled, but not arrogant. Tough balance to strike. So I focused on names that hinted at skill and teamwork, rather than just raw power. Started thinking about strategies we used, inside jokes we had, stuff like that.
And then it hit me. We had this one match where we totally turned the tables on the other team using this crazy flanking maneuver. We called it the “Serpent Strike” because it was sneaky and deadly. Boom. That was it. “Serpent Strike Clan.” It sounded cool, it had a story behind it, and it wasn’t something you saw every day.
So yeah, that’s the story of how we came up with our clan name. It was a process, for sure. Lots of brainstorming, lots of trial and error, and a whole lot of roasting from my teammates. But in the end, we got something that we’re all proud of. And now, when we drop into COD, we’re not just some random squad. We’re the Serpent Strike Clan. Fear us!
