Alright, let’s talk about them Cubs and their clothes, you know, the uniform thingy they wear when they’re playing ball. The 2023 getup, that’s what we’re yappin’ about.
So, the Cubs, they got this long history, been around since way back when, 1876 they say. First they were called White Stockings, then Orphans, then Infants, can you believe it? Now they’re the Cubs, like little bear cubs, I guess. They played in a whole bunch of World Series, 11 they say. That’s a lot of games, a whole lot of washin’ clothes, I reckon.
This year, 2023, was their 152nd season, and the 148th in that National League thingy. They played a whole bunch of games, and wore different clothes for different days, you know, like how we wear different dresses for church and for hoein’ the garden.
Now, they got these special games, holiday games they call ’em. Like for Easter, they played against Texas on April 9th. Then there was Memorial Day, May 29th, they played Tampa Bay. Father’s Day, June 18th, they had a game with Baltimore. And Labor Day too, they played somebody, but I can’t rightly remember who. For these games, maybe they wore somethin’ special, I dunno, I wasn’t there to see it, just heard about it on the radio.
- Easter: April 9 vs. Texas
- Memorial Day: May 29 vs. Tampa Bay
- Father’s Day: June 18 vs. Baltimore
- Labor Day: (Don’t remember who they played)
They got this Nike fella, makes their clothes now. Nike Vapor Premier, they call it. Fancy, huh? They announced some new stuff in 2024, said you can buy it too, if you wanna look like them ball players. Spring Training they said it starts. Don’t know what that is, but sounds like when they start practicin’ and wearin’ the new clothes.
You know, kids two and under, they get in free, don’t need no ticket, just gotta sit on their mama’s or daddy’s lap. Guess they don’t need no uniforms neither, too small to play ball, just there to watch and maybe eat some peanuts.
I hear people talkin’ ’bout the Cubs lineup and the schedule, when they playin’ and who’s playin’. They got filters and stuff, you can see when they playin’ at home, when they playin’ away, what time, what day. Too complicated for me, I just listen to the radio, they tell you when the game is.
So, that’s the deal with the Cubs’ uniforms and schedule in 2023. They play a lot, wear different clothes sometimes, and have special games on holidays. And that Nike fella makes their clothes now, fancy ones, they say. And that’s all I know about that.
This year, seems they changed their duds and style more often than I change my apron, always somthin’ new, but nothin’ as comfy as my old one though.
If you lookin’ for game times, just find a schedule, they got ’em everywhere. Don’t ask me, I ain’t got time for that, got my own work to do.
