Okay, so I finally dove into the crafting system in FF7 Rebirth. Honestly, I put it off for a bit because it seemed overwhelming at first, but once I got the hang of it, it’s actually pretty cool.

Getting Started with the Item Transmuter
First things first, you gotta use the Item Transmuter. This thing is your best friend for crafting. You unlock it pretty early in the game, so you can’t miss it. I spent a good chunk of time just gathering materials. I mean, I ran around everywhere, picking up everything that sparkled. My inventory was overflowing with random stuff, but hey, it’s all useful!
Figuring Out Recipes and Crafting Proficiency
Then came the recipes. You get some basic ones to start, but you unlock more by leveling up your Crafting Proficiency. This is where the fun begins. I started experimenting, throwing different materials together to see what I could make. It’s like being a chef, but instead of food, you’re making potions and armor. Who needs Gordon Ramsay when you can craft mega-potions? The Item Transmuter will show the required materials, but you won’t always have everything.
Leveling up and Expanding the Possibilities
- Gather everything: Seriously, pick up every single item you see. You never know what you’ll need.
- Do side quests: A lot of side quests reward you with materials or recipes.
- Experiment: Don’t be afraid to try different combinations of materials. You might discover something amazing.
- Upgrade that proficiency:The more I crafted, the higher my Crafting Proficiency went. I kept an eye on it, then you unlock the cooler stuff.
The crafting system adds so much to the game and I was able to go from crafting basic potions to whipping up some seriously powerful gear. It’s a bit of a grind, but it’s worth it. My Cloud is now decked out in some awesome gear, all thanks to my crafting skills, all thanks to gathering a little here, and little there.
