Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting football match outcomes. It’s tough, but I found this match, Flamengo vs. Cuiaba, and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I’m no expert, just a guy who likes football and playing around with data.

My Little Prediction Experiment: Flamengo vs. Cuiaba
First, I looked up both teams’ recent performance. You know, wins, losses, draws, goals scored, goals conceded – the usual stuff. I jotted down some notes on a piece of paper, just to keep things straight in my head.
I checked out their head-to-head record. Have they played each other before? Who won? Was it a close game or a blowout? All this stuff went into my little notebook.
- Flamengo recent form: (I scribbled down something like “W-L-W-W-D” – just a quick way to see how they’re doing.)
- Cuiaba recent form: (Did the same here. Maybe “L-D-L-W-L”.)
- Head-to-head: (Noted down the scores of their previous matches. Something like “Flamengo 2 – Cuiaba 1,” “Cuiaba 0 – Flamengo 3”.)
Then, I tried to find out if any key players were injured or suspended. This can really change a team’s chances, right? I searched on some sports news sites. I didn’t get into all those fancy “expected goals” or anything, I found the simple stats data of the 2 teams and then I made some notes for my prediction.
Finally, I just went with my gut. After looking at all the info, I thought, “Okay, which team do I feel is more likely to win?” It’s not very scientific, I know, but sometimes you just gotta trust your instincts!
So, I made my prediction. I’m not going to say what it is here, because I don’t want to jinx anything! Plus, I’m probably wrong anyway. But it was a fun little exercise, and it made watching the match a bit more interesting.
I recorded the actual result after match finished, and compare with my prediction, It was totally wrong. Haha, but I will keep trying next time!
