Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out which Georgia players opted out of games:
Alright, so I wanted to make a list of Georgia Bulldogs players who opted out. I’m a huge UGA fan, and keeping track of this stuff is kinda my thing. I remember it being a bit of a scramble to figure out who was in and who was out, especially around bowl season. So, I decided to put my notes together in one place.
First, I started digging through game recaps and news articles. It was a pain, honestly. Lots of conflicting information and half-reports everywhere.
My Process:
- I went to a bunch of sports websites. I looked for game summaries and player updates.
- Then, I checked out forums and fan pages. You know, the places where people really get into the details, sometimes too much detail!
- I also compared different reports. If one site said a player was out, but another said he played, I’d have to do more digging.
It was like putting together a puzzle, piece by piece. I grabbed names from different sources and then tried to find confirmation. Newspaper archives, some other websites, the typical deal. It was not easy!
I remembered some information about players leaving early for the NFL draft, so I factored that in too. That helped narrow things down a bit.
Finally, after all that digging and cross-referencing, I managed to put together a list. I cross-referenced all of them, double-checked, then put all of the infomation in one place. I think I got most of them. Keeping up with this stuff in real-time is always a challenge!
