Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Geronimo dos Santos. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? Don’t rightly know who he is, but they say he’s a fighter. A big fighter, mind you, heavyweight they call it. Hefty fella, like my old man used to be after a good harvest.
They say this Geronimo, or Mondragon as some folks call him, he’s been in a whole heap of fights. Forty-five wins, they say! And a bunch of losses too, twenty-six I heard. And one draw, whatever that means. Sounds like he’s been around the block a time or two, eh? Makes me think of ol’ Bessie, my cow, always gettin’ into scraps with the neighbor’s bull.
This fella, he’s from Brazil, way down south. Hot place, I reckon. They say he’s six foot three and weighs a whopping 265 pounds! That’s a lotta man, let me tell ya. Bigger than my prize-winning pumpkin from last year, and that was a sight to behold!

Now, they got all sorts of numbers for this fightin’ stuff. SLpM, Str. Acc., SApM, Str. Def., all these fancy letters. Don’t make a lick of sense to me, but I reckon it means how good he is at hittin’ and not gettin’ hit. Like tryin’ to swat flies on a hot summer day, gotta be quick and accurate.
They also say he was born on August 17th. Don’t say what year, but he’s been fightin’ a long time, so he ain’t no spring chicken. Probably got a few wrinkles and aches and pains, just like me after a long day in the fields.
And get this, there’s another Geronimo, a woman this time, from Manila. She sings, they say. Won some kinda singin’ competition and made a bunch of records. “Popstar” they call her. Seems like this Geronimo name is popular, like John or Mary around here.
This fightin’ Geronimo, he fights outta Feira de Santana, Bahia. Never heard of it, but it sounds far away. Probably got different crops down there, maybe mangoes and pineapples instead of corn and potatoes. Makes ya wonder what they eat for breakfast down there.
They also mentioned another fighter, Junior Dos Santos. This fella’s got a record of 21 wins and 9 losses. Don’t rightly know if they’re related or not. Sounds like fightin’ runs in some families, like how we got farmers in ours for generations.
So, there ya have it. Geronimo dos Santos, the big fighter from Brazil. Sounds like a tough cookie, but I bet he’s got a soft spot somewhere. Maybe he likes kittens or apple pie. Everyone’s got a soft spot, even ol’ Bessie, she loves havin’ her ears scratched.
