Okay, so today I decided to dig into the Yankees vs. Houston Astros game and really look at the player stats. I’ve been hearing a lot of talk, so I wanted to see the numbers for myself.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a good source for the stats. You know, somewhere reliable that wouldn’t mess up the data. I tried a few sports sites, and finally settle down to use one of them.
Diving into the Data
Once I had my source, I started looking at individual player performances. It’s kind of a mess to look at everything at once, so I went player by player.
- Batting: I checked out things like batting averages, home runs, RBIs – the usual stuff. I wanted to see who was really hitting well and who might be in a slump.
- Pitching: For the pitchers, I focused on ERA, strikeouts, and how many walks they were giving up. Basically, were they dominating or getting knocked around?
Comparing the Teams
After I had a good feel for individual players, I started comparing the two teams. I wanted to see, overall, which team had the edge in hitting and which team had the stronger pitching staff.
For example. It looked like a pretty even matchup! Both teams had some strong hitters and some solid pitchers. Some guys were having great days, and others, well, not so much.
My Observations
It is interesting to see the different stats. Some players surprise you with their number, for better or for worse.
This is what I love to do, just see data, play with data, and have fun with it.
