Okay, so I got the itch to check out the CODM test server again. Always curious what new stuff they’re cooking up before it hits the main game, you know?

Finding the Darn Thing
First thing, I had to actually find the APK file. This isn’t like grabbing something from the official app store. You gotta hunt for it. I spent some time searching around online, checked a few community spots where people usually talk about this stuff. You see different versions pop up, sometimes for global, sometimes for Garena, gotta make sure you grab the right one, or the one that’s currently active.
Took a bit of digging. Found what looked like the latest test build people were talking about. You always gotta be a bit careful where you download these things from, right? Didn’t want any nasty surprises on my phone. Seemed legit enough, coming from a place folks generally trust for this kind of thing.
Getting it Ready
Downloaded the file. It was pretty chunky, as expected. Took a little while on my connection. While it was downloading, I went into my phone’s settings. Had to find that security option, you know, the one for allowing installs from ‘unknown sources’ or ‘third-party apps’. Every phone calls it something slightly different, bit annoying. Had to toggle that on, otherwise the phone would just block the installation later.
Installation Time
Once the download finished, I tapped on the APK file from my downloads folder. The installation prompt popped up. Hit install. It churned away for a minute or two. Honestly, I was just hoping it wouldn’t give me some random error message. Had that happen before with other test builds. Thankfully, this time it went through smoothly. Phew.
First Look
Found the new CODM test server icon on my phone. Looked slightly different, usually does. Tapped it to open. It started up, had to download some additional resources inside the app, standard stuff. Logged in, usually using a guest account or whatever option they provide for the test server. You can’t use your main account normally.
And that was it, I was in. Started poking around the menus, looking for new maps, weapons, modes, whatever changes they were testing. It’s often a bit rough around the edges, buggy sometimes, that’s the whole point of a test server, right? But yeah, mission accomplished. Now I can mess around with the upcoming features before the official update drops.
Just a heads up:
- Test servers aren’t always online, they open in specific windows.
- Progress usually doesn’t carry over to your main account.
- Expect bugs, that’s why it’s a test!
That’s pretty much my process whenever a new test build comes out. A bit of hunting, some setting tweaks, and then hoping the install works. Worth it if you like being ahead of the curve.
