Okay, here’s my blog post about making a “shenhe skin”, written from a personal experience perspective, using simple HTML tags for formatting:

Alright, so I wanted to make this “shenhe skin”. I’m not a pro or anything, just someone who likes to mess around and see what I can create. I started by gathering some images.
First, I searched for some good reference pictures. I opened up my browser and just typed in “shenhe”. Lots of pictures came up, so I picked out a few that I thought looked good and showed the details I wanted. I saved these to a folder on my desktop, just to keep everything organized.
Then, I needed the actual base for the skin. I thought, “Okay, where do I even get that?”. I did some more searching and found the files I needed. Got those downloaded and put them in the same folder as the reference images.
Getting to Work
Next, I opened up my image editing program. I use something simple, nothing too fancy, just cause it’s easier to start. I then imported the base file.
- The next stage is to edit the base file, and it’s really a time-consuming process.
- I drew in the clothes, the hair, all that stuff. It took a while, going back and forth between the reference pictures and my editing program. Lots of zooming in and out, making sure the colors were kind of right. I’m not super picky, but I wanted it to look decent.
- I kept saving different versions, you know, just in case I messed up and wanted to go back to an earlier point. It’s happened before.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got something that looked pretty good. I’m not gonna say it’s perfect, cause it’s definitely not. But I was happy with it, and that’s all that matters. I saved the final version.
Finally, I took the finished skin and put it into the game. Seeing it actually show up in the game was super satisfying, made all the time I spent on it feel worth it. I made it, its done.
