So, I came across this name, Harlan Powell, the other day. Sounds pretty ordinary, right? But man, did it send me down a rabbit hole. I was just messing around online, and boom, there it was.
First thing I did, naturally, was hit up the usual search engines. You know, just to see what pops up. And what do I find? This Harlan Powell was a steel guitar player. Not only that, but he apparently played with some big names back in the day. Tony Douglas, Sonny James, the works. It says he passed away recently, which is a bummer.
Then, I got curious about the name connection with the basketball player Dwight Powell. Turns out, Harlan Powell is Dwight Powell’s dad! Can you believe it? The basketball star’s dad was a musician. Mind blown.
But it didn’t stop there. I stumbled upon some book, something about how to find out information about anyone, written by some guy also named Dennis King. It talked about “private investigators” and “finding missing people.” The whole thing felt like I was reading a spy novel. And guess what? The book was listed in the Boston Public Library. I even found out when it was added to their system.
- July 27, 2012: Added to the library system.
- August 26, 2013: Another version or something related was added.
Then there was another random thing about three people, Nick, Harlan, and Lizzy. Apparently, they had some final exam coming up, and I found something about how they should study together. It’s funny how one name can lead you to so many different places, right? The internet is a wild place, man.
So, yeah, that’s my story about Harlan Powell. Started with a musician, led to a basketball player’s dad, threw in a dash of mystery novel, and ended with some random study group. All from just seeing a name online. Pretty crazy, huh?
