Okay, so I’ve been hyped for Yunli in Honkai Star Rail, and with the recent news about her release, I figured I’d dive in and see what all the fuss is about. I’m not a pro gamer or anything, just your average player who enjoys a good gacha game.
Getting Started
First things first, I made sure my game was updated. It is a pain waiting for those big downloads, but it’s gotta be done. Once that was settled, I hopped into the game, ready to spend some of that sweet, sweet Stellar Jade I’d been hoarding.
The Warp
- The Banner: I went straight to the event warp banner. You know, the one with Yunli’s picture all over it. Gotta love the artwork!
- Spending Jade:Now the decision to use my horded jades. I decided to go big.
- The Pulls: Man, those first few 10-pulls were rough. Lots of 3-star Light Cones and the usual suspects. My heart was starting to sink a little, not gonna lie. I started to question, that maybe I should quit.
- Finally! But then, BAM! There she was. Yunli finally appeared in a shower of golden light. I literally jumped up and yelled, “YES!” My wife probably thought I was crazy.
Leveling Up
Of course, getting a new character is only half the battle. Now comes the grind of leveling her up and finding the right gear.
- Trace Materials:I farmed trace materials. I did a bunch of runs. It felt like it took forever.
- Level Up: I level her up with my saved exp books.
- Light Cones:I slapped on a decent Light Cone I had lying around. It’s not her best-in-slot or anything, but it’ll do for now. I need to do more research on that.
- Relics: Relics are next. I had a few pieces that seemed like they might work, focusing on stats that boost her damage output. Again, I’ll need to fine-tune this later.
Testing Her Out
With Yunli somewhat battle-ready, I took her for a spin.
- Simulated Universe:I figured the Simulated Universe would be a good testing ground. It’s got a variety of enemies and challenges.
- Combat: I played with her in my team. Seeing her animations and her damage is good.
- Team Synergy: I need to work on her team. So much to experiment with her!
Overall Thoughts (So Far)
She’s a blast to play! I love her animations, and she’s fitting into my teams pretty well. There’s definitely more optimization to do, but that’s part of the fun, right? For a noob like me, I’m calling this a win.
Now, if I can get lucky, and get more dupes of her!
