Okay, so I finally got around to watching the Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira fight. Man, the build-up to this one was something else, right? Two absolute killers known for finishing fights. I was pretty hyped to see how it would play out.

Setting Up
I decided to make a night of it. Got some snacks ready, kicked back on the couch. Didn’t go to a bar or anything, just wanted to focus on the action at home. Turned off the notifications on my phone too, didn’t want any spoilers if the stream lagged or something.
The Fighters
Going into it, you kinda knew what to expect, but also not really.
- Jiri: This guy is just wild. Always comes forward, throws weird stuff. You never know what he’s gonna do next, which makes him super exciting to watch. Knew he’d bring the pressure.
- Alex: Pereira, man, that left hook is just terrifying. The power he has is crazy. You always feel like he’s one clean shot away from ending the night for anyone. I was curious how his ground game would look if it went there, but honestly, I expected fireworks on the feet.
Watching the Action
The fight started, and right away, the intensity was there. Jiri was doing his usual awkward, unpredictable movement, trying to find angles. Alex looked calm, patient, just waiting for his opening. There were some good exchanges early on. Jiri landed a few decent shots, tried to mix things up. Alex was blocking well, landing some heavy leg kicks like he does.
Then things started heating up. Jiri seemed to be finding a bit of a rhythm, maybe got a little too confident rushing in. That’s the dangerous part about fighting Pereira. You make one small mistake, and it can be over.
The Finish…
And then it happened. Pereira connected. It wasn’t like one massive haymaker out of nowhere, but he landed clean, and Jiri wobbled. Alex, like the predator he is, just swarmed him. He didn’t let up. Landed a few more good shots, and the ref had to step in. It happened fast. One minute Jiri seemed okay, the next it was over.
My Reaction
Honestly, I was a bit stunned at how quickly it ended once Pereira hurt him. Part of me expected a longer war, maybe some crazy back-and-forth scrambles like Jiri’s fights often have. But man, Pereira’s power is just different. You can’t get hit clean like that. It was a decisive finish, no doubt about it.
Bit disappointed for Jiri, because he’s so fun to watch, but you gotta give props to Pereira. He executed his game plan perfectly. Stayed patient, waited for the opening, and then closed the show. That’s what champions do.

So yeah, that was my experience watching it. Definitely a memorable one, even if it ended quicker than I thought. Curious to see what’s next for both guys now.
