Okay, so today I decided to dive deep into Tyreek Hill’s Super Bowl performance. I’ve always been fascinated by how he plays, so I wanted to see what really makes him tick on the biggest stage.

Getting Started
First things first, I gathered all the game footage I could find. I focused specifically on Super Bowl LIV (Chiefs vs. 49ers) and Super Bowl LV (Chiefs vs. Buccaneers), since those are the two he played in with the Chiefs. I wasn’t too worried about deep stats at this point, just wanted the raw footage.
Breaking Down the Film
I started by watching each game all the way through, just to get a general feel. Then, I went back and watched each of Hill’s plays individually. I was looking for a few key things:
- His routes: How was he getting open (or not)?
- His speed: Was he really burning defenders like usual?
- His hands: Any drops or big catches?
- His blocking: How was he contributing when he wasn’t getting the ball?
Honestly, it was a bit tedious at times, pausing and rewinding over and over. But, it helped me get a real sense of what was happening on each snap.
My Observations
Super Bowl LIV, the one they won, Hill had some moments. I noticed he had trouble with physical coverage. But his speed was always there.
Super Bowl LV, that was tougher. The whole Chiefs offense struggled, and you could see the frustration. Hill had the targets, but the connection just wasn’t the same, the Tampa Bay defense had answers. It really made me realize how much the whole offensive line and the quarterback’s performance affects a receiver, even one as good as Hill.
Putting It All Together
After all that watching, I felt like I had a much better understanding of Tyreek Hill in the Super Bowl. It’s not just about the highlights. There are lots of little things, little battles on every play, that make a big difference. It also showed me that even the best players have off days, especially when the whole team is struggling.
It was a fun little project. Next time, I might try to dig into the actual stats and see if they back up what I saw on the film!
