Figuring Out That Devotion Artifact Code
Alright, so I’ve been hitting Risk of Rain 2 pretty hard again lately. You know how it goes, you get the itch. This time, I really wanted to unlock the Artifact of Devotion. Heard it gives you Lemurian buddies, which sounded kinda cool. The tricky part? Finding the darn code for the Compound Generator.

First off, I just jumped into runs, hoping I’d stumble across it or find some super obvious clue. Yeah, right. That didn’t really pan out. Spent a few runs just blasting stuff and keeping an eye out, but nothing jumped out at me as the code.
So, I figured it had to be hidden somewhere specific. I remembered seeing those weird tablets sometimes, the lore ones. My gut told me the answer was probably tied to those somehow. It wasn’t like the codes were just posted on a galactic billboard, you know?
The Hunt in the Aqueduct
Turns out, the clues for the Devotion artifact are tucked away in the Abandoned Aqueduct stage. Getting to them is the first hurdle. You need to find those two pressure plates hidden somewhere on the map. They’re usually kinda far apart, set into the ground.
Now, pressing them both at the same time… that’s the fun part. If you’re solo, you gotta get creative. I usually try and get lucky with the Engineer and drop a turret on one, then sprint my butt off to the other. Sometimes you can find a pot or something to roll onto one, but that’s tricky. Playing with a buddy makes this way easier, obviously. One person stands on each plate.
Once both plates are down, you hear this grinding sound, and a big hidden gate opens up somewhere nearby, usually in one of the big walls. You gotta find that opening and hustle inside before it closes, though I think it stays open once you trigger it right.
Putting the Pieces Together
Inside that hidden cave, that’s where the real clues are. You’ll find these ancient-looking tablets, like stone slabs with symbols carved into them. They don’t just spell out the code; they show patterns of shapes. You gotta look closely at these tablets.
The patterns use three basic shapes you see on the Compound Generator screen down in Sky Meadow:
- A Cube (like a box)
- A Sphere (a ball)
- A Triangle (pointy thing)
I had to look at the different tablets scattered around in there and mentally piece together the sequence. It’s a 3×3 grid you need to fill. After finding the tablets and matching the patterns, I finally figured out the combination.

The Devotion Code Sequence
Okay, so here’s what I worked out from those tablets. Remember, this is the pattern you punch into the big terminal thingy in Sky Meadow:
Top Row: Cube, Triangle, Triangle
Middle Row: Triangle, Sphere, Triangle
Bottom Row: Triangle, Triangle, Cube
Or, thinking about it simply:
- Row 1: Box, Pointy, Pointy
- Row 2: Pointy, Ball, Pointy
- Row 3: Pointy, Pointy, Box
Getting the Artifact
With the code figured out, the next step was getting to the Sky Meadow stage in a run. Once there, you gotta drop down underneath the main island. There’s a lower section with this big machine, the Compound Generator. You walk up to the terminal screen and just click the shapes in the order I listed above.
If you punch it in right, the terminal accepts it, and then you can activate the portal next to it. Jump in, beat the special artifact trial boss fight (which, for Devotion, involves some mean Lemurians if I recall correctly), and bam! Artifact unlocked.
It was a bit of a process, tracking down those plates, finding the hidden room, and then decoding the tablets, but felt good to figure it out. Now I got my Lemurian pals spawning sometimes. Pretty neat.
