Okay, so the other day I was watching an NBA game with my buddy, and he’s a bit new to basketball. A player on his favorite team picked up a couple of quick fouls, and my friend got all worried. He was like, “Oh man, how many fouls until he’s out of the game?”

That got me thinking – it’s something I just kinda knew, but I never really thought about why. So, I decided to do a little digging, just to make sure I had it straight myself.
My Little Experiment
First, I hopped online. I figured the official NBA site would have the answer, and I was right. Just a quick search, and boom, there it was. I made a note in my notebook:
- NBA Player Fouls: 6
Yep, players are limited to six fouls in a * they get No. 6,they have to leave the game.
It is different from college basketball.
So yeah, I confirmed what I already pretty much knew. Six fouls and you’re outta there, watching the rest of the game from the bench.
