Alright, so the other day I found myself with some downtime. You know how it is, scrolling around, looking for something to occupy my brain for a bit. Ended up stumbling across the idea of a Genshin food quiz. Since I’ve sunk more hours than I care to admit into Teyvat, I figured, why not? Seemed like a fun way to test my knowledge.

So, I got myself set up. Pulled up the quiz, ready to go. Honestly, I felt pretty confident. I mean, I’ve cooked thousands of Sweet Madames and Teyvat Fried Eggs in the game. How hard could it be?
Getting Started
The first few questions rolled in. Mostly pictures, asking to identify the dish. Okay, easy enough. Saw a picture of Golden Shrimp Balls, clicked that. Saw some Sticky Honey Roast, no problem. I started thinking, “Yeah, I got this in the bag.” I was just cruising along, clicking answers based on the images I’ve seen countless times in my inventory.
Things Got a Bit Hazy…
Then things started getting trickier. They weren’t just asking for dish names anymore. Some questions threw up pictures and asked for a key ingredient. Okay, hold on. Suddenly I had to actually think. I remember seeing one for… I think it was the Jade Parcels? And I had a moment where I blanked. Was it Lotus Heads or something else? Had to really dig deep into my memory of hovering over that cooking pot.
There were also those dishes that look kinda similar. You know, the different types of skewers or pastries. They’d show a picture, and the options would be like, three dishes that are basically meat on a stick but slightly different. That definitely tripped me up once or twice. Had to squint at the screen, trying to remember the exact visual details from the game.
And don’t get me started on some of the more obscure Liyue or Inazuma recipes. Stuff I rarely cook because the ingredients are a pain to gather or I just don’t need the buff. I definitely had to make some educated guesses on those. It was a mix of “Hmm, that sounds like something they’d put in an Inazuma dish” and just clicking what felt right.
Relying on Game Habits

What really helped, though, was thinking about why I cook certain foods in Genshin. Like, remembering I always needed Jueyun Chilis for Xiangling’s specialty, or that Bennett’s unfortunate egg dish uses specific stuff. Connecting the food to characters or situations really jogged my memory for some answers.
Wrapping Up
Finally got through all the questions. Hit the submit button and waited for the score. Always that little moment of truth, right? Did I actually know as much as I thought?
The result popped up. I did… okay. Not perfect, but not terrible either. Better than I expected after fumbling through some of those ingredient questions. Honestly, mostly just relieved I didn’t completely embarrass myself.
It was a fun little distraction, for sure. Definitely made me appreciate the detail they put into all the food items in the game. And yeah, it absolutely made me hungry. Think I might need to log in and cook up some digital dinner now.
