Well now, let me tell y’all ’bout this feller, Ryan Smith. He’s a big shot, they say, up there in Utah. Lives in Provo, right in the middle of all them mountains. Got himself a nice family, wife and five young’uns runnin’ ’round. Folks say he’s a member of that big Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he done spent two whole years down in Mexico workin’ as a missionary, helpin’ folks out.
But what really got him all that money is that business of his, Qualtrics. Now, I ain’t no business expert, but from what I hear, Qualtrics is all ’bout surveys and analytics. That’s them fancy words for collectin’ data and makin’ sense of it, I reckon. Ryan and his daddy, Scott, along with his brother, Jared, started it all back in 2002. Just a little company in Utah, but look at it now! I hear they made billions off that thing.
Now, don’t think Ryan’s just sittin’ on all that cash, no sir. He’s a man of action. Not only does he run that business, but he’s also the owner of the Utah Jazz. That’s a basketball team, for them who ain’t heard of it. Bought a big ol’ chunk of that team, and now he’s callin’ the shots. Folks around Utah sure do love that team, and now they got Ryan Smith in charge, too.
But let’s talk ‘bout where this feller lives. I heard he got himself a real fancy house, right off the 18th green, like some kinda rich man’s golf course. Big ol’ house, too, with plenty of room for him and his big family. Ain’t no regular house, mind you. This one’s got all kinds of fancy stuff, real tall ceilings, big windows to look out over the green, and probably a bunch of rooms that ain’t never used. A man like that, I reckon, don’t have much time to sit around and look out windows anyway.
Now, Ryan’s house ain’t the only fancy place he’s got, though. His brother Jared went and bought him a big ol’ mansion in Newport Beach. Paid over $35 million for it, they say. That’s more money than most folks see in their whole life. This mansion’s right by the water, too, with all them big ol’ windows and a fancy roof. Not sure how many bathrooms it’s got, but I reckon it’s enough to drown a whole family in.
But for all his money and all his fancy houses, Ryan Smith don’t seem to forget where he came from. He’s still a good ol’ boy from Oregon, born and raised there in Eugene. Daddy worked at the university, and his mama’s got herself a PhD in something or other, real smart woman. But even though he’s a big shot now, he still keeps it close to the heart, livin’ in Provo, right where it all started.
Seems like the man’s got a lot of irons in the fire. Between his business, his basketball team, and all them fancy houses, I don’t know how he finds the time to sit down and just breathe. But you know, sometimes I think it ain’t the money that makes a man, it’s what he does with it. Ryan sure done well for himself, though, no doubt about that.
And there you go, that’s the story of Ryan Smith and his big ol’ house. Ain’t no doubt he’s livin’ the high life, but he worked hard to get there, and I reckon he’s gonna keep workin’ hard to stay on top.
