Alright, so y’all wanna know about this Jalen Milroe fella and the NFL, huh? Let me tell ya what I’ve heard, it ain’t always pretty, but it’s the truth as I see it.
First off, this boy, Jalen, he’s from Texas, Katy, Texas to be exact. Went to some high school, Tompkins High, they call it. Now, back in his day, he was slingin’ that football like nobody’s business. I heard tell he threw for a whole bunch of yards and touchdowns. Yeah, real impressive, like 2,689 yards and 29 touchdowns one year, and then another year, even though it wasn’t as much, still a good bit, you know? 1,136 yards and 13 touchdowns. He could run too, fast as a jackrabbit, they say.
Now, he went on to play for Alabama, the Crimson Tide. Big-time college football, you know? Folks got high hopes for them Alabama boys. This ESPN fella, they got a whole profile on him and all. They keep track of all the news and whatnot. You can probably find it if you got one of them computer thingamajigs.
- They say he’s a dual-threat quarterback. Means he can throw and run. Handy, I reckon.
- But sometimes, well, he ain’t always consistent. One game he’s lookin’ like a star, the next… not so much.
I saw one game, against Tennessee I think it was, and he threw the ball okay, but also threw some picks. You can’t be doin’ that in the NFL, no sir. Threw for 239 yards, one touchdown, but two interceptions. And he ran some too, but not for much. Only 11 yards on 14 carries. Folks was expectin’ more, I tell ya. He’s still young though, only 21, barely a man in my book.
Now, this NFL draft thing, that’s where all the college boys go to try and get into the big leagues. And Jalen, he’s a prospect, they call him. That means folks are lookin’ at him, seein’ if he’s got what it takes. Some say he could go in the top 10, real high up, you know? Others say he might go later, maybe even in the late rounds. It’s all a guessing game, really. Nobody knows for sure.
He’s got the arm, that’s for sure. And he’s got the legs. But the NFL ain’t just about throwin’ and runnin’. It’s about makin’ smart decisions, readin’ the defense, and stayin’ calm under pressure. That’s where the boys get separated from the men.
So, will Jalen make it in the NFL? Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? He’s got the talent, no doubt about that. But he’s gotta be consistent. He’s gotta prove he can handle the pressure. He’s gotta show them scouts he ain’t just a one-game wonder.
It ain’t gonna be easy, that’s for sure. The NFL is tough, real tough. But if he works hard, listens to his coaches, and stays outta trouble, he’s got a shot. A good shot, maybe. We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess. Time will tell. That’s what my old pappy used to say, “Time will tell, child. Time will tell.” And he was a wise old coot, my pappy was.
Now, don’t go quotin’ me on all this, ya hear? It’s just what I picked up from here and there. But I reckon it’s as good a guess as any. This Jalen fella, he’s got potential, that’s for sure. But potential ain’t worth a hill of beans if you don’t do nothin’ with it. He’s gotta go out there and prove himself. And that’s all there is to it.
