Okay, so the other day I was down a rabbit hole, wondering what happened to some of my favorite old-school sumo wrestlers. You know, the guys I used to watch on grainy YouTube videos. Specifically, I got to thinking about Rikishi. So, I started digging, and here’s the whole messy process I went through:

The Initial Google Panic
First, I just straight-up Googled “is Rikishi still alive?” – I know, I know, pretty blunt. But hey, sometimes you just want a quick answer. The problem is, Google can be a bit of a mixed bag, throwing all sorts of stuff at you.
Diving into Forums (and Questionable Sources)
The initial search results were, shall we say, not super conclusive. I got some links to wrestling forums, which, let’s be honest, can be a total minefield of speculation and outdated information. I spent a good while clicking through threads, trying to piece things together. Some people were saying one thing, others were saying something totally different. It was a mess!
Trying to Find Something…Official?
I realized I needed something more reliable. So I started looking for, like, official wrestling websites, maybe news articles – anything that felt a little less like a random internet comment. This took a while. I mean, we’re talking about a retired wrestler, so it’s not like he’s making headlines every day.
Sifting Through the Results, Round Two
I found a couple of articles that seemed promising, but they were mostly about his career, not his current status. Lots of talk about his signature moves and his time in the WWE (or WWF, as it was back then). It was interesting, sure, but not really answering my main question.
The Social Media Experiment
I was going to find out his social media, if he have any.I did search for the answer, and the answer is yes!
Finally, Some Clarity!
After all that digging, I finally stumbled upon some more recent interviews and social media posts. And guess what? It looks like Rikishi is doing just fine! He’s active on social media, seems to be involved in various wrestling-related events, and generally just living his best life. What a relief!
Moral of the story? Sometimes, getting a simple answer to a simple question can be a surprisingly complicated * that is my researching journey about”is Rikishi still alive?”.
