Alright, let’s talk about this zzz premium plan. I decided to give it a spin a while back, wasn’t really planned, just sort of happened.

I’d been using the free version of zzz for ages, like most people I guess. It did the job, mostly. But you know how it is, you start hitting those little walls. Not enough space, this feature locked, that feature nagging you to upgrade. Got pretty annoying after a while, especially when I was trying to get something specific done.
Making the Jump
So, I thought, what the heck, let’s see what this premium thing is all about. The price wasn’t totally crazy, so I figured I’d try it for a month or two. The actual process of signing up was easy enough. Went to their site, clicked the upgrade button, punched in my card details. Took maybe five minutes. No fuss there, which was good.
First Impressions with Premium
Once I was in, the first thing I noticed was… well, not a whole lot changed immediately. The annoying ads were gone, sure. That was nice. And the storage limit disappeared, which was probably the main reason I upgraded.
Here’s kinda what I found myself using, or not using:
- More Storage: This was the big one. Finally stopped worrying about hitting the cap. Definitely used this.
- Fancy Feature X: They hype this one up a lot. Tried it a couple of times. It was… okay? Didn’t really change my workflow much. Found myself forgetting it was even there most of the time.
- Priority Support: Never used it. Didn’t have any problems that needed support, thankfully.
- Some Other Tools: There were a few other little perks listed. Honestly, couldn’t even tell you what they all were now. Didn’t seem relevant to how I used zzz.
Was it Worth It?
Here’s the thing. After the initial relief of having more space, the “premium” feeling kinda wore off. I was paying monthly for basically just the extra storage and no ads. The fancy features? Mostly gathering dust for me.
I started thinking, am I really getting my money’s worth here? Compared to the free version, yeah, it’s less annoying. But value for cash? I wasn’t so sure anymore. It felt like paying for a buffet but only eating the bread rolls.
So, I used it for a good few months. Kept paying the bill. It worked fine, no major complaints about the service itself. It did what it said on the tin. But that nagging feeling about the cost versus what I actually used stuck with me.

Eventually, I decided to pull the plug. Went back to the free plan. Sure, the limitations are back, and it’s a bit more fiddly sometimes. I have to be more mindful of the storage. But honestly? It’s manageable. And I’m saving that monthly subscription fee, which feels pretty good too. Maybe if my needs change drastically, I’ll look at premium again, but for now, free works okay for me.
