So, Friday nights can get kinda hectic around here, and sometimes I just don’t catch SmackDown live. Happened last week. I heard some buzz online about what went down and figured I needed to see it myself. Remembered I had that Hulu subscription, thought I’d give it a shot for catching up.

Firing Up Hulu
First thing I did was turn on the TV and get the Hulu app going. You could do it on a computer too, I guess, but I like watching wrestling on the bigger screen. Once the app loaded up, I went straight to the search bar. Just typed in “WWE” to start.
A few things popped up, like maybe some older clips or related shows. Then I tried searching specifically for “SmackDown”. Boom, there it was. Showed the latest episode available, usually the one from the night before. It wasn’t live, obviously, Hulu gets it the next day, which is Saturday.
Hitting Play and Watching
Clicked on the episode thumbnail. It loaded up pretty quick, no real buffering which was nice. One thing you gotta know, though, is the Hulu version isn’t the full show you see on FOX. It’s shorter, maybe like an hour and a half instead of the full two hours plus commercials. They cut out some stuff, maybe some entrances or recap segments, to fit it into that shorter time slot.
The quality was good, HD looked sharp. There were commercials, yeah, just like regular Hulu, but maybe fewer than watching it live? Hard to say for sure. It was pretty straightforward, just watching the matches and the main story bits they decided to keep.
So, What’s the Verdict?
Honestly, it’s not bad for just catching the highlights and the main plot points you missed. If you absolutely need to see every single second the moment it airs, this isn’t for you. But if you’re like me and just need a convenient way to catch up later?
- Good: Super easy to find and watch whenever you want after it airs.
- Good: Decent quality stream.
- Okay: Shorter version means you get the gist quickly.
- Not Great: It’s delayed by a day.
- Not Great: You miss some parts of the original broadcast.
For me, it worked out fine this time. I got to see the main event and the big angles everyone was talking about without having to hunt down clips online. It’s a decent backup option. Just gotta remember it’s the next-day, trimmed-down version.
