Today, I wanna talk about this book, “The Contract”. It’s about Derek Jeter, you know, the baseball guy. He played for the New York Yankees. I grabbed this book because I heard it was the first in a series, and it looked interesting.
So, I started reading. The book kicks off with Derek as an eight-year-old kid in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He’s got this big dream of playing for the Yankees. I got hooked right away, wondering how this kid was gonna make it to the big leagues.
I kept turning the pages, and the story gets into how Derek’s parents made him sign this “contract.” It’s basically a list of rules and expectations he has to follow. They want him to be good at school and on the baseball field. I found it pretty cool how they did that, setting up rules like a real contract.
- Follow the rules in the contract
- Be a leader on and off the field
- Always try to be a champion
As I read more, I followed Derek through his baseball season and school year. He’s trying to stick to his contract, be a leader, and win games. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, watching him deal with all this stuff. I was cheering for him, hoping he’d do well and not mess up the contract.
I also read that Derek used to go to Yankees games with his grandparents. That part made me think about how important family is, and how they can support your dreams. It added a nice touch to the story, you know, family being there for you.
I got to the end of the book, and I felt pretty satisfied. It was cool to see how Derek started out and how he handled everything. The whole “contract” idea was neat, and it made me think about setting goals and sticking to them. Plus, it’s the first book in a series, so I’m kinda curious about what happens next. I might check out the other books in the series to see where Derek’s story goes from here.
Overall, reading “The Contract” was a good time. It’s a simple story, but it’s got some good stuff in it about dreams, family, and sticking to your goals. I enjoyed following Derek’s journey, and it made me think about my own goals, too. It’s a solid read, and I’m kinda looking forward to seeing what happens in the rest of the series.
