Alright, so today I decided to tackle the Joniu Shrine. Let me tell you, it wasn’t a walk in the park, but I got there in the end! Here’s how it all went down.

First things first, I found the shrine. It’s tucked away, so I had to do a bit of exploring to even locate the entrance. Once I got inside, I was presented with the usual Sheikah tech setup. You know, the glowing blue stuff, the moving platforms…the whole shebang.
Figuring Out the First Puzzle
The initial area had this big pool of water and a couple of those floating platforms. My first thought was, “Okay, I need to get across this.” So, I grabbed one of the platforms with the Ultrahand and tried to position it as a stepping stone. It worked… kind of. I managed to get halfway across before the platform slipped, and I ended up taking an unplanned swim. Classic.
After drying off (virtually, of course), I realized I needed to be more precise. I carefully placed the platform again, making sure it was really stable. I also noticed a second platform I could use. So, I arranged them both, creating a little makeshift bridge. This time, I made it across no problem.
The Moving Platform Challenge
Next up was a section with these platforms that were moving up and down. I had to time my jumps just right to get from one to the next. The first few attempts? Let’s just say I missed a few times and ended up back at the start.
I took a deep breath and focused on the rhythm of the platforms. Up, down, up, down… I waited for the right moment and jumped. Success! I landed on the first one. Then, I repeated the process, carefully timing each jump until I reached the other side.
The Final Hurdle
- The final area had this giant wheel. It was a water wheel.
- There was a chest way at the top.
- Attach them, turn the water wheel.
I used my ultrahand and grabbed some materials, attached, let water flow, I reached the chest!
And that was it! Joniu Shrine, conquered. It was a bit frustrating at times, but figuring it out was super satisfying. Hope this helps anyone who’s stuck!
