Okay, so today I decided to tackle this “legendary figure crossword” thing. I’d seen it floating around online, and figured, why not? Sounds like a decent way to kill some time.

First, I googled around for a good crossword. Didn’t want anything too easy, but also, didn’t want to be pulling my hair out. Found a site, that seemed alright. Nothing fancy, just a plain grid and some clues.
Getting Started
I printed it out. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I like to have a physical copy I can scribble on. Grabbed a pencil (with a good eraser, very important!) and settled in.
- Looked for the easy, slam-dunk clues first. You know, the ones that jump out at you.
- Filled in those answers, giving me some starting letters for the crossing words.
The Grind
Then came the tough part. Staring at clues that made absolutely no sense. Thinking, “What IS that?”
Sometimes a word would pop into my head, and I’m penciling in letters, hoping it fit, only to erase them, for solid five minutes, nothing. Pure frustration.
I took breaks. Seriously, walked away, made some tea, stared out the window. Let my brain reset a bit. Came back, and sometimes – bam! – the answer would just appear. Like magic (but it’s not, it’s just your brain working in the background).
The “Aha!” Moments
The best part, of course, is when you finally crack a tough clue. That feeling of “YES! I got it!” Makes all the struggle * is a great feeling!
Finishing Up
Slowly but surely, I filled in more and more of the grid. Some educated guesses here and there. A few lucky breaks. And finally… I was done!
Checked it over, made sure I hadn’t made any dumb mistakes. All good. Sat back and admired my handiwork. Not bad for an afternoon’s work, eh?

So, yeah, that was my “legendary figure crossword” adventure. Maybe I’ll try another one next week. Or maybe I’ll just watch TV. We’ll see!
