Well now, let me tell you ’bout this gal, Lilia somethin’, yeah, Lilia Vu. Don’t know her from Adam, but they say she’s good at that golf thing. You know, hittin’ that little white ball with a stick? Sounds like a silly game to me, but folks seem to like it.
Anyway, this Lilia, she’s been winnin’ stuff. Big stuff, apparently. They say she uses these fancy “Srixon” irons. Irons? Sounds like somethin’ you use for clothes, not golf. But what do I know? I ain’t never held no golf club in my life. I reckon they must be good clubs if she’s winnin’ with ’em. Maybe they got some kinda special magic in ’em, like them magnets I saw on TV once.
They were talkin’ ’bout how she played this one time, shot a 68, whatever that means. Sounds low to me, like a bad score, but they say it’s good. She ended up tied with another gal, Angel Yin, I think her name was. So, they had to have a “playoff,” which sounds kinda rough, like a football game or somethin’. But I guess it’s just more golf. More hittin’ that little white ball.
- Lilia, she plays golf.
- She uses “Srixon” irons, whatever those are.
- She shot a 68 one time, which folks say is good.
- She had a playoff with Angel Yin.
Now, I heard tell that this Lilia girl, she’s been workin’ real hard. Practicin’ and whatnot. Guess that’s what it takes to be good at anything, even hittin’ a little white ball around a field. My old man used to say, “Hard work never killed nobody,” though I reckon it came close a few times. But he was right, you gotta put in the effort if you wanna get somewhere. This Lilia girl, she seems to understand that. She’s a go-getter, that one. Reminds me a bit of my sister, always chasin’ after somethin’.
They say this golf game is a mental game, too. You gotta stay focused, keep your head in the game. Can’t be thinkin’ ’bout what you’re gonna have for supper or whether you left the stove on. You gotta be thinkin’ ’bout that little white ball, and where you want it to go. Sounds kinda stressful, if you ask me. I prefer somethin’ a little more…relaxin’. Like sittin’ on the porch with a glass of iced tea. But to each their own, I always say.
Anyways, this Lilia, she seems to be pretty good at the mental part, too. She don’t get flustered, even when things get tight. They say she’s got a good “poker face,” whatever that means. I guess it means she don’t let folks see what she’s thinkin’. That’s a good skill to have, in golf and in life. You don’t want everyone knowin’ your business, that’s for sure. Keep your cards close to your chest, my grandma used to say. And this Lilia gal, she seems to know that alright. And that probably helped her win against that Yin girl.
So, there you have it. That’s about all I know ’bout this Lilia Vu. She’s a golfer, she’s good, and she uses them “Srixon” irons. And she seems like a hard worker with a good head on her shoulders. Good for her, I say. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits. Don’t want ’em burnin’, you know.
