Alright, let’s talk about this “la tech soccer roster” thing. Don’t know much about fancy words, but I reckon it’s about them young’uns playin’ that kickball game over at Louisiana Tech.
The Players, Bless Their Hearts
Now, from what I hear, this roster thing is just a list of who’s playin’. Like when you’re countin’ heads for the church picnic, only these folks run around a lot more. You got all sorts, I tell ya. Some are good at stoppin’ that ball from goin’ in the net – they call ’em “goalies” or somethin’. Fancy name for keepin’ the other team from scorin’, I guess. Then you got the ones runnin’ up and down the field, kickin’ the ball to each other. Some fast, some not so fast. Just like the chickens in my yard, all shapes and sizes.
- Goalies: Them’s the ones that catch the ball. Important job, keepin’ the other team from winnin’. Gotta have good hands and quick reflexes, like snatchin’ a fly outta the air.
- Forwards: These young’uns are the ones tryin’ to score. They run fast and kick hard. Like my grandson when he’s chasin’ the ice cream truck.
- Midfielders: They’re kinda in the middle, passin’ the ball around and helpin’ both the forwards and the defenders. Like the busybodies at the town meeting, always in the thick of things.
- Defenders: These are the ones that keep the other team from gettin’ close to the goal. They gotta be tough and strong, like a good fence keepin’ the cows in.
This roster, it changes every year, you see. Some young’uns graduate, some new ones come in. Just like the seasons, always somethin’ new. They got their names and what position they play. Sometimes they even tell ya where they’re from. Not that it matters much to me, long as they play good and don’t cause too much trouble.
Why Folks Care About This Roster Thing
Now, I ain’t one for sports much, but I hear tell folks get real worked up about this soccer stuff. They like knowin’ who’s playin’, who’s good, who’s new. It’s like followin’ a soap opera, only with more runnin’ and less cryin’. Maybe.
This roster helps folks keep track of the team, see who’s doin’ well and who ain’t. They talk about it at the diner, at the grocery store, everywhere you go. “Did you see so-and-so score that goal?” they say. “That new girl is real fast, ain’t she?” It’s somethin’ to talk about, I guess. Keeps folks busy.
Findin’ This Roster Thing
If you’re one of them folks that likes to keep up with this soccer business, you can find this roster thing on the internet, they tell me. On somethin’ called “ESPN” or “Fox Sports.” Sounds fancy, but I reckon it’s just a place where they write down all the players’ names. You can also find it on the Louisiana Tech website, if you know how to work them computer things. Me, I’d rather just ask my neighbor’s kid. He knows all about this stuff.
The Lady Techsters and the Bulldogs
Now, this Louisiana Tech, they got two teams, see? The women, they call ’em the “Lady Techsters.” Sounds tough, don’t it? Like they could wrestle a gator and still make supper on time. Then you got the men, they’re the “Bulldogs.” Strong and stubborn, just like my old mule, bless his heart.
Both teams got their own rosters, their own players, their own games. Folks get just as excited about both, I hear. Cheerin’ and hollerin’ and whatnot. Makes a racket, but it’s all in good fun, I suppose.
More Than Just Names on a Page
This roster thing, it ain’t just a list of names, though. It’s about more than that. It’s about the team, the community, the whole shebang. It’s about watchin’ these young’uns work together, try their best, and maybe even win a game or two. It’s about havin’ somethin’ to root for, somethin’ to get excited about. And in this crazy world, ain’t that somethin’ we all need a little bit of?
Looking Ahead
Every year brings a new season, new players, and a new roster. Folks will be lookin’ to see who’s gonna be the stars, who’s gonna make the big plays, and who’s gonna lead the team to victory. It’s the same story every year, but somehow it’s always different. And that, I reckon, is what keeps folks comin’ back for more.
So there you have it. That’s about all I know about this “la tech soccer roster” thing. It’s just a list of players, but it’s also a whole lot more. It’s about community, competition, and the spirit of the game. And that, I think, is somethin’ worth celebratin’, even if you don’t know a soccer ball from a watermelon.
The Record Book and All That
They even got somethin’ they call a “record book”. It’s like a big ol’ history book but just for soccer. They write down all the important stuff, like who scored the most goals, who played the most games, and all that jazz. It helps folks remember who the good players were way back when, I guess. Kinda like how we remember who made the best pies at the county fair, only for soccer.
Club Soccer and Such
Now, on top of all that, there’s also somethin’ called “club soccer.” That’s for them young’uns who wanna keep playin’ even if they ain’t on the main team. It gives ’em a chance to stay active and have some fun. And from what I hear, they play against other schools too, just like the regular teams. So, there’s always some soccer goin’ on somewhere, it seems.
And that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell. This “la tech soccer roster” is just a part of a bigger thing, a whole world of soccer and competition and community. And while I may not understand all the ins and outs of it, I can appreciate the spirit of it all. It’s about workin’ hard, playin’ fair, and havin’ a little fun along the way. And that’s somethin’ I can get behind, even if I still think them young’uns run around too much.
