Alright, let’s talk about my recent deep dive into MLB The Show’s Conquest mode. I’ve been grinding away at this for a while now, and figured I’d share my experiences and what I’ve learned along the way.
So, I started out, like anyone else, just playing the games. But then I realized there’s a method to this madness. The first thing I did was to hit up the CPU games. Why? Because it’s the easiest way to rack up those innings without too much hassle. Plus, you get a good feel for the game, you know?
Then, I stumbled upon this Shark map everyone’s been talking about. This thing is a goldmine. I mean, we’re talking about tons of hidden rewards here. I’m talking about 13 Show packs, six Diamond Duos packs, an Alter Ego choice pack, a 2023 Home Run Derby pack, a 2023 All-Star Game pack, and a Ballin pack. It’s nuts! So, naturally, I started working my way through that, and man, it was worth it.
At the beginning, I felt a little overwhelmed, to be honest. The first few turns, you’re just figuring things out, trying to get more fans. But, let me tell you, after about 20-25 turns, it gets way easier. You start to get the hang of it, and suddenly, you’re swimming in fans. I got to a point where I could just sim through and still have more fans than anyone else. It’s all about getting that momentum going, you see?
My Strategy
- Stack that rotation. I put together a rotation of 5x 99 starters. This way, I was always up against their worst starter while throwing my best. Not sure if they’ve patched this out, but it was a game-changer for me.
- Surrounding strongholds became my next move. When you control more land, you’ve got the upper hand. It’s basic strategy, but it works like a charm.
- Conquer phase is key early on. When you are only getting, 2,3 reinforcements, don’t waste time, just go all in.
I also messed around with those tutorial maps, like Batter Up 1. They teach you the basics, like acquiring fans and reinforcing territories. It’s simple stuff, but super important if you’re just starting out.
And get this – I hit a point where I had completed all goals except for the 100 million fans one. I was stuck there for a bit, but then I figured it out. It’s all about patience and strategy, folks.
So yeah, that’s my Conquest journey in MLB The Show. It’s a grind, but it’s super rewarding. If you’re into this mode, stick with it. Try out these tips, and you’ll see what I mean. It’s all about those small victories and figuring out what works for you. Trust me, once you get into the groove, it’s a blast!
Keep playing, keep learning, and most importantly, have fun with it. That’s what it’s all about, right?
