Saw the thing about Matt Riddle changing his hair the other day. Just scrolling through stuff online and there it was. Quite a switch-up from his usual look.

Honestly, my first thought was just, ‘huh, okay’. Wrestlers change looks all the time, right? Part of the job, keeping things fresh, whatever. But then I kinda paused on it.
It wasn’t just a trim, it was a whole different style. Made me stop and think for a second. Not really about him, specifically, but about making big changes like that. Visible ones.
My Own Big Change Moment
It took me back, actually. Years ago, I did something similar, though not with my hair. I completely overhauled how I dressed. Seriously, top to bottom.
For the longest time, my wardrobe was basically:
- Old jeans
- Random t-shirts, some probably free
- Maybe one okay jacket, mostly just hoodies
It was easy. Didn’t have to think about it. But one day, I just looked in the mirror and felt… stuck. Like the clothes were part of feeling stagnant, you know?
The Wardrobe Clear-Out
So, I decided, that’s it. Had to do something. One weekend, I just started pulling stuff out of the closet. Almost everything. Made this giant pile.
Felt weirdly liberating, but also kinda nerve-wracking. Like getting rid of a part of yourself, almost. Most of it went straight into donation bags.
Then came the hard part: buying new stuff. I actually went to stores with a plan. Didn’t just grab the first cheap thing. I looked for things that fit better, looked a bit smarter. Stuff I wouldn’t normally even try on.

- Got some decent shirts, button-downs even.
- Pants that weren’t baggy jeans.
- A proper coat.
Spent more money than I was used to spending on clothes. That felt strange too.
Wearing the New Look
Putting on those new clothes for the first time? Super awkward. Felt like I was wearing a costume. People I knew definitely noticed. Got a few comments, like “Oh, look at you!” or “Something different?”.
But I stuck with it. And after a little while, it stopped feeling weird. Started feeling… better. More confident, maybe? Like I was presenting myself differently, and it started to change how I felt inside too.
It wasn’t really about fashion. It was about making a conscious decision to change something, and following through. Shaking things up for myself.
Bringing it Back
So yeah, seeing Riddle’s new hair just kicked off that memory. It’s easy to dismiss stuff like hair or clothes as superficial. And maybe it is. But sometimes, changing something on the outside can be a kickstart for something on the inside too. Or at least, it was for me back then. Just an observation from seeing that picture.
