Well, let me tell you about this thing I heard about, these fellas, Merab Dvalishvili, Aljamain Sterling, and Al Iaquinta. They’re all mixed up in that UFC fighting thing, you know, the one where they get in that cage and beat the tar out of each other. Sounds rough, don’t it?
This Merab, they say he’s a real firecracker. A tough cookie, that one. He fights in the, uh, Featherweight, they call it. Like a bird, but I reckon he hits harder than any bird I ever seen. They say he’s worth a couple of million bucks. Can you believe that? Two million! And no wife or kids to spend it on. He must be livin’ high on the hog. I heard he gets, like, 250,000 of them dollars just for one fight. Lord have mercy!
Then there’s this Aljamain, they call him “Aljo”. Seems like a decent fella, from what I hear. He’s a champion, you know. Some kind of champion from Jamaica. Fancy that! I thought you said the Edwards man was the only one, who is the first one? I am confused. It is just so much. Anyways, he’s got this Merab fella in his corner, helpin’ him out. They’re like two peas in a pod, always trainin’ together, beatin’ each other up in the locker room, even. Can you imagine?
- They say they did three rounds, five minutes each, just beatin’ on each other.
- Right there in the locker room!
- That’s what that coach, Ray Longo, said. He’s the one that trains ’em.
And then there’s this other one, Al Iaquinta. Sounds like a fancy name, don’t it? He’s in there with them too. Heard he’s changed a lot though. Don’t know what that means, but that’s what them folks are sayin’. He’s also there with that Aljamain fella, helpin’ him out in his corner. Seems like they all stick together, these fightin’ fellas.
This Merab, he’s a tough one, I tell ya. They say he’s crazy. But a good kinda crazy, I reckon. The kind that makes you a good fighter. And this Aljo, he’s cool, they say. Real cool. Must be all that Jamaica blood in him. Al Iaquinta used to be some different way, but now he is different, as I heard. I don’t know what he used to be or now is, but he is different.
They got all these videos of ’em, you know. Fightin’ and trainin’. They put ’em up on that YouTube thing. My grandkids showed me once. It’s a whole bunch of noise and hollerin’. They got all kinds of fights on there. UFC, Bellator, PFL, ONE Championship. Even got somethin’ called RIZIN and KSW. And boxing too. It’s a lot, I tell ya.
This Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling, they’re real close, you can tell. Always trainin’ together. That Ray Longo fella, he keeps ’em in line. He’s their coach, you know. Makes sure they’re ready to fight. And Al Iaquinta, he is there too with them.
It’s a rough life, that fightin’ life. But they seem to like it. And they make a lot of money doin’ it. More money than I ever seen in my life. This Merab fella, with his two million dollars. And Aljamain, bein’ a champion and all. I don’t know much about the Al Iaquinta, but if he hangs out with them. He must make some money too.
I don’t know, it’s all beyond me. But it’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? These young folks and their fightin’. Back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like that. We just had to work hard and mind our own business. But times change, I reckon.
They are always together, the three of them. I don’t know how they keep up with each other. But Merab, Aljamain and Al Iaquinta, they are always in the news.
So there you have it. That’s all I know about that Merab Dvalishvili, Aljamain Sterling, and Al Iaquinta. It’s a crazy world, ain’t it? But I guess everyone’s gotta make a livin’ somehow. Even if it means gettin’ beat up in a cage for a bunch of money.
