Okay, so I saw this Michael Jordan cutout thing trending and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of MJ, right?
First things first, I needed to find a good picture. You know, something iconic. I searched around the internet, and found this classic image of him soaring through the air, ball in hand, ready to dunk. It was perfect!
Next, I printed out the picture. I made sure it was big enough. It has to be at least life-size, otherwise, what’s the point, right? My printer’s not exactly industrial-grade, so I had to print it in sections. That was a bit of a pain, I won’t lie.
After printing, I carefully cut out each section. This took forever! I’m not the most patient person, and all those curves and edges were testing me. But I persevered, fueled by coffee and the vision of a majestic MJ gracing my living room.
Then came the tricky part – assembling the pieces. I laid them all out on the floor, like a giant jigsaw puzzle. I used tape to stick them together. Pro tip: use clear tape, unless you want your MJ to look like he’s been through a war.
Once he was all in one piece, I needed something to make him stand up. I grabbed a large piece of cardboard from an old delivery box and glued MJ onto it. It wasn’t the prettiest solution, but it worked. Cardboard is surprisingly strong, folks.
Finally, I cut around the shape, leaving a little bit of cardboard at the bottom to make a stand. And there he was! My very own life-size Michael Jordan cutout. It wasn’t perfect, a bit wobbly in places, but I was pretty proud of it.
The Result
My friends think it’s hilarious. My cat’s not so sure, she keeps giving it the side-eye. But overall, it was a fun little project. I ended up putting him in the corner of my living room, where he now silently judges everyone who enters. It’s a good conversation starter, at least.
