Okay, so I spent some time looking into the BayStars recently. It wasn’t like, a big project or anything, just something I decided to do on a whim the other day.

It started pretty simply. I realized I didn’t know much about how they were doing this season. You hear names, you see logos sometimes, but I hadn’t really checked in on them properly for a while. So, first thing, I just went online. Fired up my usual search engine.
Getting Started
My first step was just trying to find their recent game results. You know, just the basic scores. That part was easy enough, found the official league sites or sports news pages pretty quickly. Saw they had won some, lost some, pretty standard stuff.
But then I thought, who’s actually playing well? Just seeing scores doesn’t tell you much. So I tried digging a bit deeper.
Looking for Details
This is where it got a bit more involved. I started looking for box scores or game summaries. Wanted to see who got the hits, who pitched, that sort of thing. Some sites had okay summaries, others were pretty basic.
I found the official team site too. It had schedules and news, obviously. I spent some time just clicking around there. Tried to match names from the game summaries to the player profiles.
- Looked up the current roster.
- Tried to see who the key pitchers were.
- Checked out the batting leaders on the team.
It took a bit of effort, bouncing between different pages and trying to piece things together. Sometimes the names were in Japanese characters which made it a little tricky, but most browsers can translate nowadays, which helped a lot.
Watching Some Action
Reading stats is one thing, but I wanted to see them play. Obviously, watching full live games can be difficult depending on where you are and the time difference. So, I looked for highlights instead. Found some clips from recent games on various video platforms. Watched some batting highlights, some good defensive plays.
Seeing the players in action definitely makes it more interesting than just looking at numbers. You get a better feel for the team. Saw a couple of home runs, some nice strikeouts. It helped put faces to the names I saw on the roster.

Wrapping Up
So yeah, that was my little BayStars practice session. Started with just wanting to know the scores and ended up spending a good hour or so digging into stats, player names, and watching highlights. Didn’t become an expert or anything, but I feel like I’ve got a slightly better handle on what’s going on with the team now. It was a pretty chill way to spend some time, just satisfying my own curiosity.
