An’ that’s the last thing you want when it comes time for that hydration test.
So, a couple days before that test, make sure you’re drinkin’ enough. Drink water, folks, not sodas or them sweet drinks full of sugar. Get yourself 16 to 24 ounces of water, or any drink that ain’t got caffeine or sugar. Don’t be goin’ for them fancy drinks like Gatorade or soda, ‘cause they can mess with your results. Drinkin’ all that water helps your body get ready an’ flush out any extra stuff it don’t need. Remember, you ain’t gonna pass if your body’s all dried up inside, like a raisin!
Now, if it’s the day of your hydration test, you need to be smart ‘bout what you eat too. I ain’t sayin’ you gotta eat like a king, but don’t go starvin’ yourself either. A small lunch, something light like fruit or some grains, will do the trick. Don’t go stuffin’ your face with heavy food, that ain’t gonna help you none. An’ if the test is in the afternoon, give yourself at least two hours after eatin’ before you test, ‘cause you don’t want your stomach all full when you goin’ in there.
Now, let’s talk about the urine sample part. You know they gonna be checkin’ that to see if you’re hydrated. It’s all ‘bout how the color looks. If your pee’s real dark, like the color of iced tea, then you’re in trouble. But if it’s more like pale lemonade, then you’re doin’ alright. So, make sure when you go to give that sample, it looks nice an’ light. If it’s dark, you might want to go drink some more water an’ try again later.
Another thing—if you mess up the test and your hydration ain’t up to par, you ain’t gonna be able to try again right away. You’ll have to wait 24 hours before you can be tested again. That’s a long wait, folks, so make sure you do your part to pass the first time.
So, how do you avoid all this trouble? Simple—start early, drink plenty of water, eat a light meal, an’ be sure that pee of yours ain’t too dark when it’s time to test. You do that, an’ you should be just fine. Don’t let nerves get the best of you—just take care of your body an’ it’ll take care of you when the test comes around.
