So, I was going through some old boxes in the garage last weekend. You know, the kind of task you put off forever. Mostly junk, old papers, stuff like that.

Then I stumbled upon this smaller container, kinda heavy. Opened it up, and boom – a whole stack of basketball cards from when I was younger. Totally forgot I even had these things saved.
Digging Through the Past
I started sifting through them, not really expecting much. Lots of players I barely remembered. But then I hit this one card: Toni Kukoc. Seeing his face on that card really brought back some memories.
I immediately remembered watching him play, especially with those Chicago Bulls teams. He had such a unique game back then. Very different from most NBA guys at the time.
- Just played smooth, kinda effortless.
- He could really pass the ball, saw the court well.
- And that outside shot was pretty reliable too.
He wasn’t the main superstar, obviously, they had Jordan and Pippen. But watching him, you could tell he was crucial. He brought something different. I vaguely recall hearing about how decorated he was before even joining the Bulls, winning awards overseas, being MVP and stuff in international games. You could see that skill translates.
What Happened Next
I pulled the card out. Looked it over. It’s definitely not in perfect shape, edges are a little soft, maybe a corner ding. It wasn’t stored perfectly, clearly.
My first thought was, maybe I should look this up? See if it’s worth anything? Maybe get it graded? I fiddled with the old plastic sleeve it was in, thinking about it.
But then I kinda stopped myself. Nah. That’s not the point. For me, this card was more about remembering watching him play, remembering that era of basketball. It was just cool to find it.
So, instead of putting it back in the box to be forgotten again, I just cleaned the old sleeve a bit and decided to put the card up on my shelf behind my computer monitor. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s kinda nice seeing it there. Just a cool little piece of cardboard that reminds me of some good games I watched years ago.

Funny how these little things just pop up and make you remember stuff, right? Just a simple card, but it made my afternoon.
