My Hunt for Some Decent 49ers Swimwear
Alright, so the other week, I got this idea stuck in my head. Summer’s coming, right? And we had that family trip planned down to the coast. Naturally, being the Niners fan I am, I thought, “I need some 49ers swimwear.” Seemed simple enough.

First off, I did what everyone does these days: jumped online. Typed it into the search bar. Man, you get a lot of stuff thrown at you. Some looked okay, some looked… well, let’s just say cheap. You know the kind, where the logo looks like it’ll peel off after one wash.
Finding the right style was trickier than I thought. I didn’t want anything too loud or crazy. Just some solid trunks, maybe red or black, with a clean 49ers logo. A lot of what I saw initially was either way over the top or designed for guys much younger than me, ha!
- Checked the official NFL shop first. Pricey, as expected. They had some options, but nothing really grabbed me.
- Then I went through some big sports apparel sites. Wider variety, but also a lot more digging required.
- Even looked on places like Amazon and eBay, just to see. That’s where you find the weird stuff, but sometimes a hidden gem. No luck this time, mostly knock-offs.
I spent a good couple of evenings just clicking around, comparing pictures, reading the few reviews available. It gets tiring, you know? Just scrolling and scrolling. Started thinking maybe I’d just grab a plain red pair and call it a day.
Then, I remembered this smaller sports shop over in the next town. It’s one of those places that’s been around forever, crammed with stuff. Decided to actually drive over there on Saturday morning. Why not, right? Felt a bit old school, actually going to a physical store.
Walked in, and sure enough, tucked away in a corner with other team gear, they had a small swimwear section. And guess what? They had exactly what I was picturing. A simple pair of black swim trunks, good sturdy material, with a nicely embroidered SF oval logo on the leg. Not printed, embroidered! Much classier, and felt like it would last.
Felt pretty good finding them there. Like I’d actually accomplished something, you know? Talked with the owner for a bit, nice guy, also a Niners fan (obviously). Paid for them – wasn’t even that expensive compared to the online stuff – and walked out feeling satisfied.
So yeah, took them on the trip. They were comfortable, looked good, held up in the water and the wash. Just a solid pair of swim trunks. Sometimes skipping all the online hassle and just going to a real store actually works out better. Who knew?
