That Reggie Jackson, he sure loves his cars! I heard he got a whole bunch of them. He’s a big shot, you know, playing that baseball. Made lots of money, I reckon. And what’s a fella gonna do with all that money? Buy cars, lots and lots of ’em! They say he’s got a real Reggie Jackson auto collection, a big one.
I heard he got all kinds. Fast ones, fancy ones, old ones. Not like the beat-up old truck my old man used to drive. These are real special. Heard he got some of them Camaros. My grandson, he talks about them Camaros all the time. Says they’re real powerful. And he’s got some Chevelles, too. I remember those from when I was younger. My neighbor had a red Chevelle. He was always getting in trouble with that thing.
Reggie, he likes them old cars. Real old ones. Like from the 1930s even, like them classic American muscle cars. My boy, he always said those cars were the best. I don’t know, they just seem like a lot of noise and trouble to me. But Reggie, he’s got a whole mess of ’em. And them ’55-’57’s, I don’t know exactly what they are, but people make a big fuss over them.
- He got Novas, too. I heard he got four of them!
- Even got a ’69 427 Yenko Nova. Don’t ask me what that is.
- Sounds fancy, though. My neighbor’s boy, he’d know.
They say he keeps a book, a big binder, for every single car. Writes down everything about ’em. When he got ’em, what color they are, all that stuff. You know that man loves his cars! A real Reggie Jackson car collection it is.
And get this – after he did real good in that baseball game, that World Series thing, he went out and bought himself a fancy Rolls Royce. A real expensive one. Heard it was silver and blue, like his team’s colors. Then he drove it all the way across the country! Can you imagine? That Reggie, he’s somethin’ else. Spendin’ all that money, $64,250, that’s more than I ever seen in my whole life. I guess when you hit them home runs like he did, you can do whatever you want.
He started buyin’ cars when he was just a young’un. Before he could even drive ’em legal, I heard! Just like my nephew, always messin’ around with cars before he had his license. But Reggie, he went and made somethin’ of himself. Won all them baseball games, five of them World Series, that’s a lot! Got in that Baseball Hall-of-Famer.
Heard he got a Ford when he was young. Everyone starts with something simple, I suppose. But now? He’s got them exotic cars, like that Ferrari. I seen pictures of them. They look like they go real fast. Too fast for me, that’s for sure. I like to take things slow. But Reggie, he’s got a need for speed, I reckon.
He don’t just have any cars. He’s got rare ones, real special ones, they say. He’s got about 100 of them! More cars than I got shoes. Reggie Jackson classic car collection it’s the real deal. And I bet each one of them is shiny and clean. Not like that old rusty thing my husband used to drive. Reggie takes care of his things, I can tell you that.
Some folks, they collect stamps. Some collect them little porcelain dolls. Reggie? He collects cars. Big, loud, shiny cars. It’s a rich man’s hobby, that’s for sure. But he earned it, I suppose. I reckon when you’re good at somethin’, like Reggie is good at baseball, you get to have nice things. And he sure does love them cars. A whole bunch of ’em.
