Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Santos Escobar. Don’t know much about fancy wrestlin’, but I saw him on TV the other day. Big fella, he is. They say his real name is somethin’ like Jorge somethin’, born way back in 1984. That’s a long time ago, makes him an old fella like me, almost.
Santos Escobar, huh? Sounds like a big shot name. They say he’s Mexican, and proud of it too. Heard him on some podcast, talkin’ ’bout his culture and how much it means to him. Lucha somethin’ he called it. Sounds like a big deal over there. He wants to show the world where he comes from, and that’s right good of him, I say. Folks should be proud of their roots.
- He wrestles for that WWE thing.
- Big muscles, the fella has.
- Lots of fancy moves and jumps. I can’t do that. My old bones would break.
He’s got this group, Legado Del Fantasma. Means somethin’ like “ghost somethin’,” I reckon. They all wear masks and stuff. Reminds me of them old cowboy movies, where the bad guys always wore masks. But these fellas, I ain’t sure if they’re good or bad. They say in wrestlin’, there are good guys and bad guys, but it all looks like a lot of hootin’ and hollerin’ to me.
This wrestlin’ thing, it’s been around a long time. They say the oldest one started way back in 1933. Imagine that! My grandpappy was still kickin’ back then. I bet he wouldn’t have understood this wrestlin’ stuff either. All that jumpin’ and flippin’. Back in my day, wrestlin’ was just two fellas grapplin’ in the dirt.
But Santos, he seems like a good fella, even if he does all that fancy stuff. He respects his elders and his culture. That’s what matters, I reckon. He’s workin’ hard and makin’ a name for himself. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, no matter where you come from.
He’s on that show called Smackdown. Sounds like a rough show, don’t it? I bet they smack each other around pretty good. I wouldn’t want to get in the ring with those fellas. I’d be flattened like a pancake in two seconds flat.
They say wrestlin’ is all pretend, but them fellas look like they’re hurtin’ sometimes. I guess it takes a lot of strength and skill to do what they do. Santos, he must be strong as an ox to be doin’ all that flippin’ and flyin’. And that Lucha Libre thing, I looked it up, it’s got history like my old fryin’ pan, been passed down generations.
I don’t know much about wrestlin’, like I said, but I know hard work when I see it. And Santos, he’s workin’ hard. He’s representin’ his people and his culture, and that’s somethin’ to be admired. He’s on TV, showin’ the world what he can do. And that’s a good thing, I think. Gives folks somethin’ to cheer for.
So, good for you, Santos Escobar. You keep on wrestlin’ and makin’ your people proud. And maybe one day, you can come down to the farm and show me some of them fancy moves. But be careful with this old lady, I might just surprise you!
This wrestlin’ world, it’s a whole different world than mine. But it’s interestin’ to see folks from different places doin’ their thing and sharin’ it with the world. And Santos, he’s one of them, a good one too by the looks of it. He went from bein’ just Jorge to bein’ the great Santos Escobar, and that takes somethin’, don’t it? Guts and a whole lot of hard work.
It’s like bakin’ a good pie. You need the right ingredients, the right know-how, and a whole lot of patience. And Santos, he’s got all of that, it seems. He’s mixed his heritage, his hard work, and his passion, and he’s baked himself a pretty good career. And that’s somethin’ anyone can appreciate, whether you like wrestlin’ or not.
I hear they had a podcast, somethin’ called “After the Bell.” They talked about how important it is to show off where you come from in that wrestlin’ world. Santos, he was right there talkin’ about it. Proud as a peacock, he was. And that’s good. Folks should be proud of who they are and where they come from.
