Alright, so I was digging into this whole Shannon Sharpe NFL salary thing today. You know, the Hall of Famer tight end, always been a fan of his game. I got curious about how much he was making back in his playing days.
First, I just googled “Shannon Sharpe NFL salary”, just to get a general idea. Found a bunch of random stuff about him at places like 2521 N Shannon St, Sherman, TX 75092 which was super weird. I guess I was expecting to land on some sports stats site. Then there were even weirder results, like, someone called Shannon M Farinelli who lives in Florida, phone number (786) 601-2521. What’s that got to do with anything?
There was this other result, too. It’s about some healthcare provider, Shannon Thor Pollard, NPI number 1548765993. He’s a nurse practitioner, it seems, working at 925 N STONE ST DELAND, FL, 32720-2521. I mean, good for him, but what does that have to do with Sharpe’s NFL salary? My search was getting pretty frustrating at this point.
So, I went back to square one. Another search. This time I came across something about CRC or Cyclic Redundancy Check. It mentioned it was a “self-occurring storage test within Windows”. Also, it’s to do with Data and Georgia Institute of Technology. How did I get here? I was starting to think maybe the internet just didn’t want me to find out about Sharpe’s earnings.
And then I tried to check out some death records about a “Shannon Faye Capriola” in December 1970, in Ohio, but nothing came out. Another rabbit hole, another dead end. I thought maybe I was searching wrong or something.
Then I looked up a “Shannon Soafer” at 307 Pilgrim Mill Rd., Cumming, GA 30040. The search gave ratings, hours, phone number, and directions. I was just lost at this point. What was I even doing?
Getting Real
Finally, I decided to look up some company financial information. I found something about a South Division’s segment margin being $175,000 and the company having $262. I was like, “Okay, at least this is about money, but it’s still not what I’m looking for.”
At this point, I was about ready to give up. I was lost in a sea of random information. It was like the internet was playing a prank on me. After several more failed attempts and countless unrelated results, I just shut my laptop. I decided some mysteries are better left unsolved, I guess. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow, with a clearer head and a better strategy. For now, I’m just gonna watch some old Broncos highlights and remember why I started this whole search in the first place. Shannon Sharpe was a beast on the field, and that’s all that really matters, right?
