Alright, folks, gather ’round. I wanna share something I did recently that was kinda fun and kept me busy for a bit. I’m a big golf fan, you see, and with the 2023 major season over, I got this itch to find out who won all the big tournaments this year. So, I decided to dig in and make a little record of it for myself.
First off, I just started with the basics, you know? Who won what? I went online and started poking around. It took a bit of searching, but I eventually got the names that kept popping up: Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman. These were the guys who took home the big trophies this year.
Then, I did some more digging to figure out which tournament each of them won. That took a little more time, clicking around different websites and all that. Found out that these players were the champs of the 2023 majors. It is said that only five golfers in history have won all four majors. Pretty cool, huh?
Here’s what I found out
- Jon Rahm won the Masters. First major of the year, pretty prestigious.
- Brooks Koepka, he nailed the PGA Championship. Another big one, lots of history there.
- Wyndham Clark, won the U.S. Open, a great champion.
- Brian Harman, won the last major championship, The Open.
After I got all that sorted, I started reading up a bit more about these tournaments. They had some other interesting information. For example, the size of players in THE PLAYERS Championship will be changed to 120 players. And for most tournaments played on multiple courses, the size will keep 156 players, except the Farmers Insurance Open, it would be 144 players.
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. It was a fun little project, and now I’ve got a nice little record of who won the majors this year. Maybe I’ll keep doing this every year. It’s a good way to keep up with what’s happening in the golf world, and it’s kinda satisfying to have all that information in one place. Plus, it gives me something to chat about with my golf buddies!
Anyway, I just thought I’d share my little adventure with you all. Maybe it’ll inspire some of you to do your own digging into things you’re interested in. It’s a good way to learn something new and keep your brain busy! I also found that Rory McIlroy won the PGA Championship at Southern Hills, and Justin Thomas won his second major at the US Open, but that was in the past, not in 2023.
Oh, I almost forgot! I also found out that only five golfers have ever won all four majors in their career. That’s a big deal! They call it the “Career Grand Slam.” The names are Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus. Legends, all of them!
