Okay, so I saw this question floating around the internet: “Is Jack Plummer related to Jake Plummer?” and I got curious. I mean, they both have the same last name and they both play/played football, so it’s a fair question, right?
First, I started with a simple search. Just typed in “Jack Plummer and Jake Plummer related” into the search bar. I figured this would give me a quick yes or no answer.
The initial results were a bit confusing. I saw a bunch of articles about Jack Plummer, who’s a quarterback, and a bunch about Jake Plummer, who was a quarterback. Lots of mentions of their stats, teams they played for, and so on.
So I decided to dig a little deeper. I started looking specifically at articles about Jake Plummer’s family, and then did the same for Jack Plummer. I figured if they were brothers, or father and son, or even cousins, it would be mentioned somewhere, right? I was looking for information, about parents, siblings or any family relations.
I carefully read it, and I was looking for the keywords: father, son, brother, and cousin.
After going through several articles, and family trees, I found… nothing concrete. No articles directly stated they were related, and no family trees showed them connected. It is seems like they just happen to share a last name and a profession.
So, based on my little investigation, I’m going to say they are probably not related. It seems like it’s just a coincidence.
