Okay, so I wanted to get a fantasy draft going in Madden 24 the other day. It took me a sec to figure out exactly where the option was tucked away, but I got there. Here’s basically what I did, step-by-step.

First things first, I booted up the game, obviously. Went straight to the main menu. You know how it is, lots of tiles and options everywhere.
I looked around and found the Franchise mode. That’s usually where all the long-term league stuff happens, so I figured the fantasy draft would be in there somewhere. Clicked on that.
It asked me if I wanted to do an Online or Offline league. Since I was just figuring it out myself, I went with Offline. Less pressure, you know? Just wanted to see the process.
Then it was time to Create New League. Pretty standard stuff so far.
Now, this next screen was key. It asked about rosters. I saw options like ‘Preseason Roster’ and ‘Active Roster’. I just picked Use Active Roster. Felt like the most up-to-date way to start before diving into the fantasy part.
After that, I had to pick a team. Doesn’t really matter too much for the draft itself since all players go back into the pool, but you gotta control someone. I just grabbed my usual guys.
Finding the Magic Button
Okay, here’s the part that sometimes trips people up. After you pick your team and coach and all that setup stuff, you land on a screen that says something like ‘League Settings’ or maybe it’s part of the initial setup flow right after picking the team… honestly, it blends together. BUT, what you’re looking for is an option called Starting Point. It wasn’t super obvious at first glance, I kinda had to poke around.
Once I clicked on ‘Starting Point’, boom, there it was. It gave me a couple of choices, like starting in the preseason or regular season with the normal team rosters. But right there was the option I wanted: Fantasy Draft. Selected that one immediately.

- Fired up Madden 24
- Went into Franchise Mode
- Chose Offline (or Online if you prefer)
- Selected ‘Create New League’
- Picked ‘Use Active Roster’
- Chose my team
- Found the ‘Starting Point’ option
- Selected ‘Fantasy Draft’
After selecting ‘Fantasy Draft’, it took me to another screen where I could set up the draft details – like the draft order (serpentine, standard), round timers, stuff like that. I tweaked a few settings just to see what they did.
And that was basically it! Hit ‘Start Drafting’ or whatever the final confirmation button was, and it loaded me right into the fantasy draft screen, ready to pick my first player. Took a little bit of clicking around, but felt good once I saw that draft board pop up. Now the real fun part begins, actually picking the team!
