Well, let me tell ya about this figurine tiger woods thing. I don’t know much about fancy toys or golf or whatever, but I’ve seen some things.
First off, what is a figurine? Sounds like somethin’ small and you put on a shelf, right? Like them little porcelain dogs my neighbor used to collect. So, this Tiger Woods… he’s a golfer, I think. A famous one. People like him so much they make little statues of him. Crazy, huh?
I went on the internet, you know, the thing my grandson set up for me. Typed in “figurine tiger woods” just like you told me. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a whole bunch of ‘em! Some are big, some are small. Some are cheap, some cost an arm and a leg.
- Some are called “collectibles.” That means folks pay extra for ‘em, I guess.
- Some are “action figures.” Do they really move? Like little dolls? Beats me.
- They even got ones that they say are “signed.” But how do you know it’s really him? Could be anybody scribbled on there.
Now, I saw one that said “15.5 Inch Large Tiger Statue.” Fifteen inches! That ain’t no small figurine. That’s almost as big as my cat! And they call it a “sculpture” too. Sounds fancy. They say it’s for “tiger lovers” and you can put it in your office or your garden. Imagine that, a tiger in your garden! Not a real one, of course.
Then there’s these “Pop” things. Pop PGA Golf – Tiger Woods. They’re small and have big heads. Kinda funny lookin’ if you ask me. Some are red, some are blue. I guess people like to collect them all. Like stamps or somethin’. They even got special cases to keep ‘em safe. Kids these days, always gotta have a special case for everything.
There’s also talk of “signed reprints” and “autographed” ones. How much they cost? Lordy, I saw one for nearly $60. That’s a lot of money for a little toy. I could buy a whole week’s worth of groceries for that! And some come in sets, like a whole tiger family. For kids to play with, they say. Or put on a cake. A cake! Seems like a waste to me, but what do I know?
You can find these things all over. eBay, they call it. Seems like a big flea market on the computer. They got all kinds, new and used. And they talk about “fast shipping” and “easy returns.” Like you’re gonna send back a little Tiger Woods doll after you buy it.
Now, why would anyone want a figurine tiger woods anyway? Well, I guess some folks just like to collect things. Reminds them of somethin’, maybe. Like when Tiger Woods won a big golf game. Or maybe they just like the way he looks, all serious and swingin’ that stick.
And this Tiger Woods, he’s more than just a golfer, I hear. He’s good at what he does. People say he’s got “skill and technique”. He hits the ball far and makes it go where he wants it. And he made golf popular, they say. Got folks watchin’ who never cared about golf before. That’s what they tell me.
He’s got deals with companies too, like that Nike place, and now some other one, TaylorMade. They pay him lots of money to wear their clothes and use their sticks, I reckon. Millions, they say. Imagine that, gettin’ paid just to wear a shirt!
So, that’s what I know about figurine tiger woods. It’s more than just a little toy, seems like. It’s about a famous guy, and golf, and collectin’ stuff, and spendin’ money. Folks got their reasons, I guess. Me? I’d rather spend my money on a good pie. But to each their own, right?
