Alright, so the other day, I was setting up my fantasy football league with the guys, and we got into this whole thing about team names. You know, gotta have something catchy, maybe a little edgy, definitely funny. And with all the Deshaun Watson drama the past couple years, I figured his name was ripe for some pun-tastic team names. So, I started brainstorming.
The Brainstorming Session
First, I pulled out my phone and opened up a notes app. Gotta keep track of these golden ideas, right? Then, I just started jotting down anything that came to mind, no matter how silly it sounded. I was thinking, what rhymes with “Watson”? What kind of puns can I make? What are some funny, maybe slightly inappropriate, references I can use?
I spent a good 20 minutes just free-associating. Wrote down a bunch of duds, to be honest. Stuff like “Watson Your Mind” and “Watson the Case”. Yeah, pretty lame. But you gotta get the bad ideas out to make room for the good ones, you know?
Refining the List
After I had a decent-sized list, I started to refine things. I crossed out the ones that were just plain bad. Then, I started to play around with the wording of the better ones. I was trying to make them punchier, funnier, you know, the kind of names that would get a laugh out of the league.
I was also thinking about the other guys in my league. What kind of humor do they appreciate? Some of them are into the more edgy stuff, others are a little more reserved. I wanted to have a good mix of options.
The Final Cut
Finally, I narrowed it down to my top five. These were the names that I thought were the best of the bunch. The ones I was actually proud of. And now all I can say is I am really satisfied with my work, they will definitely give the guys a big surprise.
