Alright, let’s talk about this here TPC Southwind golf course. You know, the one them fancy folks go to play. I ain’t never been there myself, mind you, but I heard things, seen things on that there internet thingy.

First off, they got this here “course map,” like a picture showin’ where all the holes and stuff be. They call it “interactive,” which I guess means you can poke at it with your finger and it shows you stuff. Like, how far it is from where you smack the ball to that little flag thingy. They call that “GPS distance,” sounds mighty complicated if you ask me. And I heard this map shows you each hole from up high, like a bird lookin’ down. Pretty neat, huh?
- They got this thing called a “scorecard” too. That’s how they keep track of how good, or bad, you’re doin’. It’s all tied to this here map, so you know where you stand.
- And they talk about “tee, pin and target positions.” Sounds like where you start, where the little flag is, and where you’re tryin’ to hit the ball.
- I also heard tell they got all sorts of maps. Some show the holes, some show the whole layout. One shows from the tee another shows the pin location and another shows the target. Like I said, lots of maps!
Now, this here golf course ain’t just any old cow pasture. It’s a “championship layout,” which I reckon means it’s a big deal. They say it’s 7,244 yards long, which is a country mile if you ask me. And it’s a “par-70,” whatever that means. Some fella named Ron Prichard, he’s the one who drawed it all up, I guess. He must be a smart fella.
They say this place is real close to Memphis, that big city with all the music and whatnot. It’s in a place they call a “gated community,” which I take to mean they got fences and guards to keep out folks like me, ha! But from what I hear, it’s real pretty out there. “Well-groomed fairways and greens,” they say. That just means the grass is all cut nice and neat. Makes it “difficult yet friendly,” which sounds like a puzzle to me. They say they have folks working out there that can give you pointers, if your game ain’t so good, they call these fellas caddies, sounds fancy.
Anyways, sounds like this TPC Southwind is a place for them rich folks to swing their sticks and try to get that little ball in the hole. Me, I’d probably just lose the ball in the tall grass. But hey, to each their own, right? If they wanna spend their money hittin’ balls around, that’s their business. I’ll stick to watchin’ my chickens and tendin’ my garden.
So, that’s the lowdown on that TPC Southwind course map, as best as I can figure it. It’s got maps, scorecards, fancy words, and lots of green grass. And it’s probably a whole lot fancier than anything I’m used to. But hey, it’s interesting to learn about, ain’t it? Even if you ain’t never gonna set foot on the place.
They also said there’s a lot of history at that there golf place. I guess they had lots of big golf games out there. And you can walk around with one of them caddie fellas I talked about earlier. Sounds like they know everything about the course. Probably tell you where not to hit your ball so you don’t lose it, ha!
So, if you’re lookin’ to play some golf and you got a pocketful of cash, maybe this TPC Southwind is the place for you. Just don’t forget your map, your scorecard, and maybe a good pair of walkin’ shoes. And if you see me peekin’ through the fence, don’t mind me none. I’m just curious, that’s all.
And one last thing, this here Ron Pritchard, the fella that built this place, he must have known what he was doing. Sounds like a real nice layout, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about this here golf course. Time for me to go feed them chickens.
