Okay, so I’ve been messing around with NBA 2K23 on PC lately, specifically trying to get my hands on those sweet, sweet custom stadium files. I’m a huge Nuggets fan, and I wanted to see if I could spice up their home court a bit. Here’s how I went about it, and man, was it a bit of a journey.

Finding the Files
First thing I did was hit up the usual spots online – forums, modding communities, you know the drill. I was basically looking for anything related to “NBA 2K23 stadium mods” or “custom courts.” I found a few different threads with people talking about it, some dead ends, and some promising leads. I was on a quest.
It was a little frustrating at first because some of the posts were pretty old, and some of the places had files that weren’t super well-organized. There wasn’t exactly a central hub, I had to sift through a lot of messages and discussions.
Downloading and Extracting
I finally stumbled upon a couple of promising downloads. They were usually in .zip or .rar format, so I used a program to extract them. Inside, I found a bunch of files with names that I didn’t recognize, mostly ending in .iff. I was like, “Okay, these must be it… hopefully.” I was a little worried about viruses and stuff, so I made sure my antivirus was up-to-date. It’s always better to be safe than sorry with downloads from places you aren’t 100% familiar with.
The “Mods” Folder
The next step was figuring out where to actually put these files. I remembered from past 2K games that there’s usually a “Mods” folder involved. I went digging around in my NBA 2K23 installation directory. I poked around the folders, checked my 2k game installation folder. Eventually found where the game kept all the files.
I created a folder called “Mods” (if it wasn’t already there – I can’t quite remember if I had to make it or not). I just wanted to keep things organized, my own little system, you know?
Putting It All Together
I carefully copied the extracted .iff files into the “Mods” folder. I made sure I didn’t mess with any of the original game files, just in case something went wrong. I wanted to be able to easily undo this if I needed to.
Testing It Out
Time for the moment of truth! I fired up NBA 2K23 and went straight to a Nuggets home game. At first, I was nervous, not sure if I had messed anything up, but then… BAM! There it was! The custom court, looking all shiny and new. The stadium was updated, everything was looking how it should. It was a pretty awesome feeling, seeing it all come together.
Troubleshooting
It wasn’t always smooth sailing, I will tell you this much. Sometimes the game would crash, or the court wouldn’t load properly. If that happened, I’d double-check the file names, make sure I put them in the right place, and sometimes I’d even try redownloading the files in case they got corrupted or something. There was a little bit of trial and error, definitely.

So yeah, that’s basically my experience with getting custom stadium files for the Nuggets in NBA 2K23. It took a bit of searching, some careful file management, and a little bit of luck, but it was totally worth it in the end. I love customizing stuff, and that made my game feel way more personal.
