Alright, let’s talk about this Alex Verdugo fella and how much money he’s makin’. Don’t know why everyone’s so interested in these things, but here we go.
Alex Verdugo’s Money, Year by Year
So, this Verdugo guy, plays baseball, you know? Big leagues. And these fellas, they get paid a whole bunch. This year, 2024, they say he’s gonna make a whoppin’ $8,700,000. That’s a lot of chickens, let me tell ya. Last year, 2023, he got $6,300,000. Still a pile, but not as big as this year’s pile. Year before that, 2022, he got $3,550,000. And way back in 2021, he only got $649,500. Guess he got better at hittin’ that ball or somethin’.
- 2024: $8,700,000
- 2023: $6,300,000
- 2022: $3,550,000
- 2021: $649,500
Where’d He Come From Anyways?
They say some team called the Los Angeles Dodgers picked him way back in 2014. Drafted him, they call it. He was gonna go to college, Arizona State they say, but then the Dodgers gave him some money, and he went to play baseball instead. Started out playin’ for some small team in Arizona, then worked his way up, I guess. His full name is Alexander somethin’ or other, Alexander Brady Verdugo, if you wanna be fancy. He even used to pitch and hit back in high school, in some place called Tucson.
How Much is He Really Worth?
Now, these fellas always talkin’ about “net worth” and “accumulated earnings.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me, but I guess it means how much money he’s got all together. They say his “net worth” is around $12,425,000. Don’t ask me how they figure that out, probably some city slicker math. And they can even tell you how much money he’s made since way back in 1985! Like they keep track of every penny these fellas make. Crazy, I tell ya.
Contracts and Bonuses and Such
So, these baseball players, they sign contracts. Like a deal, you know? Says how much money they get and for how long. Verdugo, he signed a deal for one year with the Red Sox for $3,550,000 back in 2022. Just one year, then they gotta figure it out again. This year, they say he’s in his last year of somethin’ called “arbitration eligibility.” Sounds complicated. And sometimes they get extra money, called “bonuses.” Like a little somethin’ somethin’ on top. But they didn’t say he had any signing bonus with Red Sox, it was $0. Now he plays for the Yankees, and those Yankees, they spend a whole lotta money on their players. Heard they’re payin’ all their players somethin’ like $188.3 million this year! Land sakes, that’s enough to buy the whole dang county!
So, What’s the Big Deal?
Well, I guess it’s just interestin’ to some folks how much these fellas make for playin’ a game. Me, I’d rather just watch the chickens and tend to the garden. But if you wanna know how much Alex Verdugo makes, there it is. A whole lotta money, that’s for sure. He’s probably set for life, that boy.
In a nutshell, Alex Verdugo makes a lot of money playing baseball. He started out with the Dodgers, then played for the Red Sox, and now he’s with the Yankees. His salary has gone up a lot over the years, and he’s probably worth a whole bunch of money. But at the end of the day, it’s just a game, and there’s more important things in life, like family and good health. That’s what I always say, anyways.
