My Journey Trying to Get Traded in The Show 24
Okay, so I’ve been putting some serious time into Road to the Show in MLB The Show 24 lately. My guy was doing alright, but honestly, the team I was on? Going nowhere fast. Plus, I felt like I was kinda stuck behind some other dudes, not getting the reps I thought I earned. Decided it was time for a change of scenery.

First thing I did was boot up the game and head into the main RTTS hub. You know, where all your player career stuff is. Had to click around a bit, navigating through the menus. If memory serves, I think I went into the section that deals with my agent interactions. It’s not always super obvious, but it’s in there.
Found the option to chat with my agent. Clicked on that. Got the usual screen with different conversation options. I scanned through ’em and landed on the one that pretty much said “Request a Trade”. Didn’t hesitate, just selected it.
My agent popped up with some dialogue. Can’t remember the exact words, but it was the standard stuff like, “Are you sure?” and then “Okay, I’ll talk to the front office and see what teams might be interested.” Nothing too dramatic, just acknowledged my request.
Then, the waiting game started. This part can be a drag. You just gotta keep playing the schedule. Game after game. I played some, simmed through a few others when I got impatient. Kept checking my player’s phone messages and the main hub screen, looking for any updates from the agent or news about trade talks.
- Played through about two more weeks of the season.
- Checked agent status daily (in game time).
- Kept an eye on the transaction news feed.
After what felt like forever, but was probably just a couple of in-game weeks, I finally got a message. It was my agent. He said he’d gauged interest and a few teams were potentially interested. He didn’t give specifics right away, just that he was working on it.
A few more days passed, played a series on the road. Then bam, another message. This time it was the real deal. The agent called back, said the front office had worked out a deal. Told me which team I was heading to. It wasn’t my top pick, but hey, it was a move, a fresh start.
So yeah, that was basically it. Packed my virtual bags, got the notification that the trade was official, and boom, new team colors, new teammates. The whole process wasn’t instant, definitely took some time playing through the schedule after making the request. But I just followed the menus, talked to the agent, and waited it out. Worked for me this time around.
