Alright, so fantasy basketball season is creeping up, or maybe you just finished your draft like I did. Snagged Nikola Jokic, which felt pretty good, gotta say. But then comes the next big thing: the team name. You can’t just roll with something boring when you’ve got the MVP, right? Needed something that fits the big guy.
So, I started thinking. My first few ideas were kinda lame, just basic stuff. “Jokic’s Crew” or whatever. Nah, needed more punch. Decided to spend some real time on this, actually put some effort in for once.
Fired up the computer and started digging around. You know how it is, you type in something like “Jokic fantasy names” and get hit with a wall of lists. Spent a good while just scrolling, clicking through pages. Lots of repeats, lots of stuff that just didn’t land for me. Some were trying too hard, you know?
I was looking for puns, references to his game – the passing, the triple-doubles, maybe even that chill attitude he’s got. Stuff about him being “The Joker” obviously came up a ton. Also saw things related to Serbia, his horses, all that jazz.
Started jotting down the ones that made me chuckle or seemed clever. Had to filter out the really common ones, wanted something a bit more unique if possible. It wasn’t super easy, honestly. A lot of the good puns get used up fast.

Ended up going with one of those myself, felt pretty good about it finally. Took longer than I thought it would, but hey, getting the name right is part of the fun.
