So, I was watching some football highlights the other night. You know how it is, just unwinding. Saw a clip of Darius Slay making a play, and then later, maybe it was on social media or something, saw him pictured with his family. Looked like happy kids.

It just got me curious. Pure nosiness, I guess. How many kids does this guy actually have? Seems like a family man. So, I pulled out my tablet while the commercials were on. Started searching. Typed in stuff like Darius Slay family and how many kids Darius Slay.
Found some articles pretty quickly. Took a little clicking through, past the usual sports stats pages. Seems he has several sons. Saw some names mentioned, saw photos from different events. He seems quite proud of them, which is nice to see.
My Little Search Process
- Grabbed the tablet during a game break.
- Typed in a few search terms about his kids.
- Clicked through maybe 4 or 5 links.
- Read bits from articles and fan pages.
It wasn’t exactly rocket science, finding the info. Took maybe fifteen minutes tops. But it got me thinking about something else entirely. It reminded me of back when I was trying to find some old records for my grandfather. He served in the army, way back. Trying to piece together his history was tough. Everything was paper, tucked away in dusty archives, if it existed at all. Took me months, writing letters, making calls.
Now, here I am, finding out about a football player’s kids in minutes just by typing on a screen. It’s weird, isn’t it? How some information is so easy to get, almost too easy. And other stuff, things that feel important, like family history, can be so hard to track down. Makes you appreciate the effort people put into preserving things, I suppose. Anyway, back to the game highlights after that little detour. Just one of those random thoughts that pop up.
