Okay, so the other day I was thinkin’ about gettin’ into a bit of bag work, you know, just to mix up the workout routine a bit. Figured I’d need some decent gloves, and that’s when I stumbled upon these 4 ounce ones. Didn’t really know what to expect, to be honest. I mean, gloves are gloves, right?
So, I ordered a pair online. When they arrived, first thing I noticed was how light they felt. Like, surprisingly light. I slipped them on, and they fit pretty snug, which was good. I started with some light jabs, just to get a feel for them. They felt alright, gave a decent amount of feedback from the bag.
My Workout
- I warmed up for about 10 minutes, some light cardio and stretching, you know the drill.
- Then I started with some basic combinations, one-twos, hooks, that sort of thing. The gloves felt good, not too bulky or anything.
- After a while, I upped the intensity a bit, started throwing some harder punches. That’s when I really started to notice the difference with these lighter gloves. You really feel the impact, you know?
- I did a few rounds, taking breaks in between. I gotta say, it was a pretty good workout. Definitely felt it in my arms and shoulders the next day.
But here’s the thing, these gloves, they ain’t for sparring or anything like that. They’re strictly for bag work. They don’t offer a ton of protection, so you gotta be careful. I wouldn’t recommend them for beginners, either. You need to have good technique and know how to throw a punch properly, otherwise you could hurt yourself.
Now, I ain’t no professional boxer or anything, just a regular guy trying to stay in shape. These gloves, they served their purpose. They gave me a good workout, and they held up pretty well. I used them a few times a week for the past month, and they are still in good condition. But like I said, you gotta know what you’re doing with these things. They’re not your everyday, all-purpose boxing gloves.
All in all, I would say these 4 ounce gloves are a decent choice for experienced people looking for some bag work. They are not the best, but they are not too bad either. They’re light, they fit well, and they give you a good feel for the bag. Just remember to be careful and use them for the right purpose, also make sure your hands are well protected with bandages. And if you’re just starting out, maybe go for something with a bit more padding.
